Being good in your own eyes is the easiest thing in the world. Because people usually rationalize any evil they do and make it look good to themselves.
And there is no easy solution to this problem of being biased in your own favor, no matter what you do. You can only try to put yourself into another person's shoes and look at yourself through their eyes. But even this is hard. Because the more different is your situation is from that of the other person, the harder it is to imagine yourself in his or her shoes in an accurate and realistic way. Self-bias affects everything, including such imagination.
