Problem Playing with Gonzo.com 4K Files

I am unable to play the Gonzo.com 4K files on anything other than my PC. No issues with any lower resolution or 4K files from other studios (Giorgio's scenes look amazing).

I use either Plex or the media player on my LG Smart TV and everything works except Gonzo 4K scenes. Even when I connect my laptop to my TV the Gonzo's look choppy and not quite as sharp.

Anybody know of any difference in the file format or a solve for this? I'm really missing out on some good stuff on the best display I have (65 inch 4K TV)

Hmm what I do is that I download the movie, copy it to a flash drive and plug that sucker to the tv.

Yea, same issue with the Gonzo files unfortunately. Something is not compatible between the media player on my LG TV and this video files. Was wondering if anybody else is having this problem. Thanks

Still trying to figure this one out. The only difference I see with the Gonzo 4K files is the frame rate is 50 fps compared to all the other 4K videos I have that play with no issue. Any solve out there or anyone else have this issue? Killing me to miss the Gonzo content in the highest resolution on the big display.

The framerate is the culprit or more specifically the codec/resolution/framerate combo.

On smart TVs there are more or less limitations of what type of this combo they are able to play. I think for LG it's only maximum 30 fps
in 3840x2160 when using H-264 (even must be Main Profile, not High Profile).
I believe Samsung Tizen OS TVs can do 3840x2160 in 60 fps but there's bitrate limitation.

All these limitations are tied to the limited computing power in their embedded hardware.

in HEVC codec? They would be approx. half the size and more compatible.

When some of you have problems playing Gonzo 50fps 4k videos even on their computers, it's the same problem with TVs. 50fps (opposed to 29.97 from Gio) means more data and thus computing power to process when playing.

Because there would be a load of older TVs that they wouldn't be compatible with. There is also the option of keeping file sizes the same and improving quality, rather than reducing file sizes for the same quality.

Thanks kidloco2! I think you're exactly right. My LG will play h.265 codec so I personally would be cool with the switch but I realize that will leave others out in the cold. I'll keep looking for some type of resolution.

You can convert 4k Gonzo files to HEVC yourself.
Regarding older TVs and HEVC codec, older TVs that don't have HEVC codec compatibility are not 4k, since 4k was never practically meant to be encoded in h.264!
You have older TV? Take 1080p files. 4k won't even look better.

Pretty new TV, 2018 LG 4K model. All other 4K files looks spectacular except for the Gonzo that wont play. I'll try converting using Avidemux but so far I'm a little lost on all the setting when converting to 265 codec. Need to see Veronica Leal in full 4K somehow haha. Thanks for the information!

The Gonzo 4k vids I have on a thumb drive and plugged into my Samsung 4k TV play fine. I have a Samsung QLED I bought at the end of last year.

Thanks for the comments. Looks like the combination of the high frame rate and 4K resolution are too much for the video player built into the 2018 LG TVs. So I'll just download the 1080 versions for Gonzo stuff for now. This was an expensive TV so stuck for a few years unless there's a fix out there (firmware from LG, 265 decoder).

You can just convert these files to 30fps with some video converter or editor, like FFMpeg, Handbrake....
You won't loose much image fidelity.

I used Avidemux 2.7 and was able to the Gonzo 4K files. Thanks Kidloco! I still say Gio's 4K vids are superior. Anybody else agree?
