Gotta say, not a fan of the new lower bitrate for scenes

Looks like LP has gone the cheaper route using a lower bitrate for encoding new scenes. There is an obvious difference in quality compared to prior scenes which is especially noticeable on a good quality 4k TV. As someone that has been purchasing scenes for years, this is very disappointing. I stopped subscribing to Brazzers when they did this as well as other sites. What I never understand is there are cheap bastards out there who demand lower file sizes because they are too cheap to buy another hard drive, does LP as well as other sites actually think these same people pay for high quality porn? No, they are complaining because it takes longer for them to pirate scenes from file sharing sites. If anything, keeping larger file sizes discourages these cheapskates from trying to pirate scenes from other sites. I have 12, 14, and 16 TB drives so better and better quality and even larger file sizes are always encouraged! Facial Abuse has monster file sizes but their quality is top notch, but not everyone is into their style. Some other sites like Anal4K have recently improved their quality immensely as well, larger file sizes too which is fine by me.

Anyway, just wanted to express my disappointment, this will definitely affect how many scenes I buy going forward.

If they want to offer a smaller size for people who are concerned about HD space, great, but they should still offer the 30kbps high quality 4k file (10gb+)!

Personally, I hate the new 15kbps quality! It's a niceable drop on my large OLED TV I use as a monitor. Also, I think the people so concerned about HD space are increasingly rare. The 30kbps size at 4K has been the same the past 7 years, and yet $ per GB HD space has gotten cheaper and cheaper. This move makes no sense.

For comparison, they're now losing to the American studio Jules Jordan (24kbps); and are on par with what has always been overly compressed Evil Angel network (15kbps). Not to even the really high bitrate studios again.

The issue is made worse by the fact that many major studio releases here are 4K 50 fps. Even at 24 fps 16 megabits/second is barely adequate, but at 50 fps these scenes are going to be extremely bitrate starved. Thankfully the reduction in quality doesn't currently appear to apply to older scenes. As a collector I am concerned that we will see a repeat of what happened on MindGeek and Gamma owned sites where it is not only the new releases, but much of their back catalogue has been transcoded with significantly degraded quality just to save on bandwidth costs. Some of this quality loss could be offset by switching to a more modern codec such as AV1 or HEVC but as these are much more computationally expensive I expect that it would put too much pressure on already struggling servers.

We want high quality of video and sound in the main studios, as davebowman said. AV is one of the most expensive porn sites and the content worth it but a maximun quality of videos is more than requiered.

Yep, that is why I will never subscribe to any of those sites, including Evil Angel which used to be a favorite. Many sites encoded their 1080P videos with 12000 bitrate, LP now encodes their 4k vids using a 15000 bitrate which is ridiculous. LP took a gamble that video quality wouldn't matter to most people, but the only thing we can do is vote with our wallet. At least I have tons of high quality videos of the type content I enjoy, if I never buy another video here I will be happy. Will likely use my remaining tickets to buy older scenes now that the video quality is not worth downloading/paying high prices for anymore. If you want to lower the video quality using HALF the bitrate you used to, ticket prices should also be cut in half!
