Unless one is buying at the highest level of clothing, it often feels as a scam.
I am a bit of a dandy, so price is not what turns my pocket. The quality and style is such ugly trash. The clothing style that overtook woman's fashion (fast fashion) often looks like what was seen on Filipino barmaids in Asia 20 years prior.
I would almost rather go naked

Anatomic & Co are excellent for a 'soft shoe'.
Don't know who the best are for winter water-proof shoes, I wouldn't mind advice here.
Do you have an opinion on shoe brand “Mephisto?”

Never heard of them, do you recommend?

Not knowing how to dress can immediately disqualify you from even being considered for dating, sex, etc., specially if you don't have a charismatic personality to compensate for you lack of sense of fashion.
For guys it is super easy because all we really need is a pair of pants, a shirt, some clean shoes, and a jacket can go a long way too.
The difference is in the cut, so as long as it doesn't look baggy or outdated you are good to go.

It's very straight forward, and it is basically unfair how easy it is to look good because many guys simply don't know how to dress normal.
That said, if you are a cool guy already you don't need to worry, you can wear anything, but why make things harder on yourself when you don't have to.
Vagabundo1 wrote:The pair I had got soaked a few times (leather walking shoes) and never felt right after that.
They have a very good reputation, I don't know if my pair was defective or something.

Basically staying in the past can work against you when it comes to fashion, but things change, and if you are cool you can pull off anything, although it is better not to make things harder on yourself than they have to be.
Looking normal for the current times can go a long way.

Question: I've seen idiots wear them out of place, but on a rainy evening if you can pull off wearing a fedora with your raincoat without looking a pretentious dick, I'd say you've passed the acid test, like speedos without embarassment or shame in the pool - to onlookers - "its not my fault I've a great ass - get over it!" I say fuck the haters is the best cool.

The question of how to pull off anything is by having passion behind your statement.
For example hip hop fashion is certainly ridiculous at first glance, but because the guys behind it have so much pasión and belief behind that style, they pull it off and make it cool.

So yeah, the answer is passion. Have authentic, honest, and legit passion behind your communication.
Just realize that you need to have your own passion. Dressing like someone else with passion doesn't solve that problem for you, and that's where people usually makes the mistake.
Starrio wrote:Words do make a difference in meaning. I feel not giving a fuck doesn't solve the problem of lack of passion.
The coolness comes from having passion about what you are putting forth.
There is a lot of value in no giving a fuck about giving yourself permission to do things you want to do, but the pulling it off and coolness definitely come from your level of passion for it.
There are many homeless people that clearly don't give a fuck about anything, but that doesn't make them cool. So I feel the wording is important there.

Vagabundo1 wrote:What clothing looks best on fat, sloppy man? The man who is wearing beard barbae with recessed chin creates PERHAPS the illusion of masculine silhouette. Also likely is the neckbeard is clearly seen through the beard and now it's just hairy, fat man.
So, what style shirt, hat, jumper takes the bad situation of fat, declined man and maximizes benefit of this bad situation?
Some renaissance looking hats divert attention from the neck, some pauldrons give strength to the shoulder. The cut of the neckline and existence or non-existence of the collar is where that battle is won. Perhaps I am wrong.
What will make fat face/declined modern man look least bad, if it cannot make him look good?
