As much as I am a fan of predicament bondage - either the glamourous Bondage Cafe (Jim Weathers) Code Fetish (james Bertoni) scene, or the heavier Kink com, Insex/Hardtied and Futile Struggles/Hunters Lair scene - to make it work you really do need professional riggers who know what they are doing and have a decent gear and preferably a purpose built studio for that.
You can't really dabble and not end up with something that looks half-arsed and limp (so would have been better not to try).

For that reason I find anything here with a bondage/bdsm tag a bit of a fail, however well-intentioned.
Giorgio has tried it and it has never really come off, because (as undoubtedly great as he is at directing regular porn) I don't think he has the tunnel-vision 'fetishistic' mentality for detail and atmosphere those scenes demand (it's not easy!).

And I think the same crticism applies to NRX's occasional experiments along those lines. He has bought some accessories and built a dungeon-looking set, but I just don't feel his heart and mind are really in it as a director. So it ends up being more a 'themed frame' within which his regular scenes take place, than anything resembling a classic 'sex and submission' shoot.

So I would rather AV studios stuck to their strengths, which they do very well, than dabbled in things they can't do and please no one.

That said (re mouth gags) you mention, a large ball gag with a drool hole (the bigger the gag, the more the model drools is the general rule) and maybe cuffs, would be a perfect accessories for the first part of scenes, that first 10-15 minutes when the female performer moves from her posing-modelling to a 1-on-1 with a single male performer (from which it can go to anything from 1-on-1 to full ganbang). But people here generally do expect oral action, so any gag would need to come off for the greater part of the scene.

As for ring gags, jennings gags, fish hook gags, all fine too. I just prefer large ball gags as they work best in inducing drool.

Mouth gags are always hot when used in the right context and properly. I find them hot in some scenes..
