Can you take it easy with the bright white lighting?

Postby Brut » Tue Jun 02, 2015 3:29 am

I find some LegalPorno videos too damn bright. There are actually times when things are so bright that there's clipping and details are lost in the video. This ain't a good thing.

Can things be toned down a little? Like, I'd take a bright video over a dark one any day. But too much of something — in this case light — is not a good thing.

Any examples?

There is a science behind the all white room and no, it's not just 'bout the style. Yeah clipping is bad, but was it in the actual area of interest?

Yeah agree, those two are technically pretty fucked up. Mild to medium overexposure (in camera or in post) and bad lighting setup.
I wouldn't mind spatial overexposure of some furniture out of focus in the background but clearly they had moments where the actors are
almost burnt out.

What I meant in my first post was, that light neutral colored mostly whiteish room makes lighting a lot easier, you need much lower powered and less lights,
and you still get nice even soft lighting with even soft shadows. Even white sofa basicly acts like a fill light. :D
In contrast there are those unfamous italian movies' scenes always shot almost in the dark with just a table lamp - which I would hate if LP will do!
Gapes and pussies should be always shot pinky light! (which SOS still doesn't deliver  ) ;)
