Aside from the fact that that I think there should be an off-topic section for threads like this that have nothing to do with porn (suggestion for viewforum.php?f=68),
I think it's funny that I somehow stumbled on this topic at this very moment that I'm looking at my 2 childhood bikes in my moms basement thinking what I should do with them. Firstly, a no-brand black (larger wheeled) BMX that I won with a lottery ticket organized by elementary school (or one of my local sports club at the time; I can't recall) when I was about 7. Miracuously, the tires are still fully pumped after not riding it over 35 years! but the saddle is sadly partly dissolved. Secondly, my first mini bike (with some rust here and there) that I had while in Kindergarten. Sure, I have great memories riding them, but what am I supposed to do with them as an adult with no young kids....
Obviously,- although with larger wheels and somehow still sized for adults who would go to BMX parks and what not-, I'm not gonna ride that BMX any longer on the streets as it would look juvenile as some kind of "balding dad with receding hairline in midlife crisis" desperately wanting to hold on to his youth or something, but on the other hand, one can't be sure to not knock up some broad in the future and then wanting to pass it along to your kid when you maybe restored it to the best of your abilities....
Sure, "what if" questions are worthless, but on the other hand, to lovelessly dump them at a local thrift shop that's another thing....
Yea, old toys which I can't be bothered to put on Ebay are all ready to be brought to the thrift shop or sold to some guy for a garage sale, but some other nostalgic stuff....
an Atari 2600, a commodore 64 with 100 disk floppy? cassettes & printer, Sega Mega drive, Sega Game Gear and various Nintendo Games & Watch etc....a trip down memory lane....The longer you stay in the garage, the more you want to keep....netzerkaiser wrote:Broke my heart to return home from abroad to find out it had been thrown out in family house clearout, 20 years ago.
The real question is what would one do with them had it not been sold at the white elephant sale. Yea, if one lives in a mansion with one or more garages with all the space in the world, sure why not if you still dream that you can be Elliott from E.T. LOL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oR1-UFrcZ0k & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tA5giyG8E7g , but if there is only limited space am I supposed to go to my medium spaced garage like some old fart grooling over what has been...
I've always thought that nostalgia is for old saps/ old farts, but now that I've turned one of them, I am not so sure any longer the older I get....

Such a cool post, thanks! I only created it because I spent 30 mins at work listening to lovely nostalgic stories from a Polish & Russian lad & realising once upon a time we were all in same place! It made me misty eyed!
About subforums, I said this before, but I guess other posters were right & we have to not be lazy & go find other forums. Posting here is particularly odd for me because my main interest is LP & Sineplex stuff pre-2016, but its a great forum with great people. Still I found cool old-school soccer forum past few days so its a start.
Thanks for great story Caveman & I wish you & family great weekend!

Now, if I wouldn't have had any contact with them in years while I was abroad, then that would be a different story.
But the question was what would YOU do with with your bikes after you would've took them back to your pad had it not been sold at the local white elephant sale?
If it's pure nostalgia and of no practical use (=riding them regularly or passing them along to my kids) then they're only collecting dust and I think I should rather just let go of the past. I don't want to be or look like one of those scrawny grey/white-haired & balding grandpas who I see riding across my city, in these spiffy duds looking like a grandpa version of Lance Armstrong.
But then again, compared to my zero-valued no-brand bikes, which don't have a cult status, your bikes have their own Wikipedia for crissakes LOL:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raleigh_Grifter
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raleigh_Bomber
I guess you could always buy your bikes again on Ebay if you want it for some nostalgic reason; I think I will probably just go ahead and take some snapshots with my cellphone of my bikes and then say goodbye forever. Somehow, there are no pictures of me on any of those bikes back in the day....I also took some pics of old shoes/classic nikes/flip-flops that went to Spain and kid's clothing that I wore and that I found in the basement. Gosh, I've really turned into an old sap writing this....
BTW, Aside from all C-64 with a bunch of moldy floppy disk of which I wouldn't even know how to start those games any longer, I will keep the other game consoles for nostalgic reasons.

Lose the fear of turning into old grey haired guy... think more blessed to have hair at all. Keep the bikes. It seems you need time, time to consider whats valuable & whats not. I'm blessed because I took over family home & I've had time in renovating to slowly figure out what stays or goes. Ulimately it all goes of course.
But you gotta ask, what do I want go last?
Its slow, like wine, but it has to be done.
I truly hope this helps.
Frederick.

Even though I do not often keep an eye on peoples usernames on forums unless they somehow stand out for whatever reason (e.g. controversial poster, continuous nagging about this or that, tirelessly begging for certain sex acts, tirelessly on the hunt to spar with certain producers), but surely a +1000 message poster would've stood out, even if it is by their sheer post count number. There are not many 1k posters here, especially not after only being on a forum as short as you are (May 25, 2019). I truly wonder how you could have gathered 1200 posts here, but that you have somehow flown under the radar for me, even after a couple of hundreds posts, and that I got "introduced" to you just recently, due to all these off-topic threads/topics, when you already had gathered 1k posts?![]()
P.S. Don't mind me, I may come across as harsh and as a jerk sometimes (often a case of lost in translation as English is my third language), and I often forget to place a smiley here and there, but I don't hold grudges against anybody and I do not live in bad terms and bad blood between anybody and me here (but some people might think otherwise; well, fuck 'em LOL). Especially on a frivolous porn forum where everybody uses a fake name, I often forget with whom I had discussions or even "beef", the day after....A caveat/disclaimer: I sometimes can come across as a jerk intentionally or unintentionally, so excuse me for that. Folks in my country are hot blooded and tend to have a short temper and never tend to beat around the bush to be politically correct when something is on their mind.
