Camera/Filmaking Equipment used by LP studios

Postby Ichimaru » Sat Mar 02, 2019 12:16 am

As someone who does a little bit of amateur action sports filming, I am interested in what camcorder or interchangeable lens camera is used by each studio.

Does anyone have any idea? Would be great if the directors could chime in.

Over 75% of the scenes I release doesn’t have any color correction or filters, even the picture profile I use is almost neutral...

the contrast is very high to highlight whites as more white and black as even blacker than they are.

compare legalporno scenes of different models with other sites and you will see the difference in the colors.

So what camera? I know of a network with similar footage to Giorgio that uses the bmpc 4k.

BMPCC4K= Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera 4k. Just realized the acronym in the previous post might not be understood

My iPhone does better than a bmpc )))
just to say: that’s a consumer camera, not a pro.

I use a canon c300 mark II

Yep, the Canon C300 II is serious equipment and it shows in the picture quality. Not like some other sites that are using some cheap consumer camcorders.

And the $12.000 is just for the camera body. You have to add lenses, batteries etc etc...

Now it cost $12k but when I bought that camera I paid over $22k (with also optics). Try to understand that just 1 card cost about 400$....

Camcorders are absolutely sufficient for the production of porn as you can see on sites like trueanal or swallowed which are directed by Maestro Claudio or sites like fakehostel. They deliver sharp and contrasty pictures. When using 35mm format cameras you have to deal with shallow depth of field (no one cares about bokeh in porn!) and file outputs which require much more postprocessing efforts to deliver contrasty results in final.
Artistic cinematic in so called available light environment for gonzo style pornography is nice to have but in my opinion it is distracting from the main purpose to produce crystal clear wank material
Light is the key, camera work and performers action is much more relevant than so called professional equipment. Professionalism is not defined by gear but by so many other aspects which lead to good pornopraphic results.

"camera work and performers action is much more relevant than so called professional equipment."

Yeah like being able to keep the damn camera still without flipping back and forth all over the scene! lol! Zoomin in and out is great. Sideways movement should be avoided. Better then with a new angle. It also seems like the resolution suffers when panning.
Can we have guys licking the girls' anal gapes Mike Adriano style, while the girls are pissing, please!

Who cares about camera in general, Giorgio?

Your 22k camera didn't make your videos automatically better. And if I'm not mistaken you still didn't buy any of pro cine video lens for it, so you even didn't get full potential out of it. Even at that time as I wrote you before, there was a couple cameras capable of taking visually the same result for a fraction of price, but obviously you C300 wasn't a bad choice at all. I just don't care about overpriced gear anymore. That's not a challenge for me anymore. And it takes a looong way even for ex-pro to reach the limits of let say mirroless cameras, ie. Sony A7/9 series to be more specific.

Thanks for the reply Giorgio. I didn't mean to open up a critical debate haha.

I like the picture quality of your footage and so I was interested in what gear was used.

Does anyone know what the other producers use so I can make a personal comparison?
