Lana was an attractive but always 'overhyped and under-delivering' player in the grander scheme of xxx at the time.
i think new xxx fans look back at photos of her and fantasise that because she was an attractive woman, that she ever had what it takes to be a successful xxx model. but she really didn't. and for that single and simple reason her career played out as it did, underwhelmingly
she wasn't unfairly overlooked by xxx producers at the time. quite the opposite, due to her looks she had far more opportunities to shoot extended to her than most of the other new models at the time. but because she didn't have the mentality or the professionalism required to succeed, she didn't succeed.
beyond that lack of mentality, she was someone who for various reasons (drugs involved, out-of -control ego as a result of that) actively self-sabotaged her career at every opportunity
i generally follow a policy of let sleeping dogs lie in in these matters, so you can do your own research and reach your own conclusions. but Lana physically attacking Adriana Chechik at the AVN awards because (by all accounts) she felt she deserved to win the prize Adrianna won, is just a single infamous example of the unprofessional (and antisocial) negative behaviour that led to her not achieving the career you imagine she could/should have had
as for shooting at AVLP. Giorgio is no fool. he's been on the 'all-knowing-all-seeing' industry inside for decades, so it's extremely unlikely he wouldn't have heard about her behaviour on the xxx insider grapevine and immediately ruled her out of consideration.
think sensibly: why would Giorgio want a model with a history of physically attacking other performers and 'irrational behaviour' due to substance abuse wandering around the czech studio?*
so you are welcome to your fantasies about her, but Lana at AVLP was never going to happen
*note. obviously (as any sensible and humane person should) i have sympathy for those who suffer from the affects of substance abuse, so i would never criticise Lana for suffering from such problems (as i have read it said she did, all caveats with regard to their veracity apply).
but the proper place to work through such addictions is a rehabilitation centre or a hospital, not a porn set (especially when a symptom of that addiction is violent beahviour directed at other performers)

like you, i would love to have seen her shoot for AVLP, and perhaps Giorgio wanted to shoot her at the time too. but sadly she had arrived to and retired from xxx (with full honours) before the legalporn/sineplex thing was ever properly up and running. so i doubt the funds to pay her fees were ever there, nor the studio didn't yet have a reputation of any international significance to make Stoya feel that a visit would have enhanced her professional CV
but we are in complete agreement on Stoya. and just as you do, i still carry a candle for her because she was such a legend in her time. and fortunately for her legacy, that time being the early days of internet xxx (xxx moving from backstreet xxx shops to a mass global audience) means many others will remember her and respect her qualities as a performer as we do
