Poll Give PornboxBot its own section to clear Models section

Postby bdsmpretty » Sat Aug 27, 2022 10:14 am

Hey All, this is a follow-up poll based on the results of (and obvious conclusion that can be drawn from) the recent poll below.

Poll: Too much cam-girl content in The Models Thread (Section)?
poll results - Copy.png

viewtopic.php?f=96&t=46737

The reason and motivation for creating this poll comes from measuring the feedback from members who participated in the poll above (an overwhelming ~90% 'Yes' vote for the option 'Yes, negotiating The Models Thread become impossible due to excess of cam-girl content') and from listening to feedback from members about how this problem could best be remedied.

On that basis the poll is a simple binary Yes/No as to whether you think giving PornboxBot its own dedicated main forum section (so making the forum subheadings General/Models/PornboxBot Updates/Support/Off Topic) would improve the Models section, by clearing it of autobot posts (currently outnumbering members comments by around three or four posts to one) thereby making the Models section a space purely for members/producers/performers comments and feedback only.

Members would then be able to access those PornboxBot updates posts in their own section. PornboxBot currently adds 120+ automatic updates daily (more than three pages) to the Models section (the majority of these posts being small/micro studios and camgirl content).

Personally I think this would restore some life and continuity to the Models section, which (as evidenced by the poll) most (90%) members now feel to be so overwhelmed ('deluged') by autocontent that it is no longer possible to negotiate its contents effectively, therefore reducing member contributions and interaction.

I have made this a binary poll to simplify poll feedback, but if you wish to add any comments to clarify why you voted the way you did, or to suggest alternative solutions to the one proposed in the poll, you are welcome.

Thank you for your engagement, votes and feedback, and enjoy your weekend.

I'm a bit torn but I voted no, as for a model I am interested in the PBB posts can help alert me to new scenes. For browsing the model forum I've realised it's helpful to look at who the last poster was before. The daily set of PBB thread bumps are all grouped together at the same time each night and can fairly quickly be moved past.

To me this is faulty logic, and this is how this place has operated for years now. Why make it the way people want/how it SHOULD be naturally, when there is a perfectly good way to circumnavigate the issue at hand. Let's just make a work-around......

You slightly missed my point there, which is that the PBB posts aren't completely useless for models I'm interested in. The issue with the model section for me is too many threads for what I pretty much count as spam content here.

And that's because the bot spams the models section, bringing those threads to the top every night.

bdsm's suggestion of moving the bot posts to a "new scenes"-section would be a good solution and I would like to add that that section should also be excluded from the "active topics"-feature, like the support-section is.

No, that's not what I meant. I meant all the spam SCENES posted for sale on Pornbox, which in turn then lead to PBB posts related to them.

A simple "Hide PornboxBot Posts" in the Models thread would solve this.

Yeah, the junk scenes are definitely the source of the problem, but my point is that the PBB posts requires a general solution because it would be too much manual work for someone to mark what scenes deserves a PBB post and which do not.

There may be no way back now but the solution I'd like to see would be a reduction in the number of junk scenes... I seriously struggle to believe that sales warrant the inclusion of many so just possibly there's hope in time.

It costs PB next to nothing to host them so pretty much any sale is profit for them. I doubt anything will change unless people starts to leave the platform altogether which won't happen unless a direct competitor with a better user experience shows up out of nowhere.

Unless the inclusion of the additional scenes leads to fewer people buying the higher quality content here. I wouldn't be at all surprised if particularly new customers were harder to come by as a result. We both know there is still premium content here and like me I bet you use filters etc to find it but first time visitors may not.
