changing account's email address

I'd like to change the email address I use for this website (separating-work-from-play sort of thing). When I try doing this via the user control panel I consistently run into an error message claiming I entered an incorrect password—except I just logged in with that password). I tried sending a support message, but after successfully completing the captcha and hitting "send," a message box appears with just "Forbidden." Is it still possible to change an email address+account name? Thanks
