Question for older members.

Postby Starrio » Thu Sep 24, 2020 4:24 pm

The first video I got was back from May I believe, from this year 2020, so I'm relatively new to buying stuff here.

Although I already have built a decent collection in a very short time, I still don't know about many things that went on in previous years.

I would like to know when Gonzo and GIO started using native 4K cameras, and when they were just converting 1080p videos into 4K.

I want to know the cut off date because I have discovered an amazing catalog from previous years, and I'm getting many of those videos myself, so I would like to know this so I know which videos are worth downloading in 4K and which ones were originally shot in 1080p and later converted.

It doesn't have to be a precise date, if you have it great, but at least an approximation, like what year, or even what month.

I also would like to know what the whole quality rating means in the trailers. Some trailers say picture quality 110, others say picture quality 83, 91, 77, and other random numbers.

Does anyone know what those numbers mean?

And finally I notice the cameras they used for the XXXmas 2018 video are very good, and not all videos look like that. Some videos do look like that, like those 10 men gangbangs with Timea Bella, but it seems not all videos use these cameras.

So is there a way to know when they use these cameras? Even if those particular cameras are 1080p, they still look great in 4K.

Enable the 4K highlight in the options, then browse through the Gonzo history and you can see 4k started to appear around those dates : https://pornbox.com/application/studio/22/2016/2

I'm not sure they have ever remastered a video from say 720p to 1080p or from 1080p to 4K.

I remember XXX saying that before 1080p videos were offered, around 2015 or 2016,
movies were being recorded at 4k already, but as far as I know, 2015 movies and older,
have not been re-encoded to 4K and uploaded to the video store.

So, in short, when you download a 4K movie, chances are, it was recorded using a 4K camera.

I really hope that's the case. I don't think conversions are always as good.

How about the other two questions about picture quality numbers meaning, and the XXXmas special cameras?

Does any old member has info on this?
