The business models are different. Not comparing apples with apples. You may get more for your money, or not. Each customer has to decide for themself.
With a subscription website you can download what you want from their back catalogue, which may be extensive, or not. And may be attractive to you, or not.
Then going forward you're paying monthly/annually for whatever new content they publish, which at some sites may be as little as one scene a week or even recycled old content.

I do agree that it's nice to see scenes shot in different locations. Even Giorgio used to try different locations back in the day.
Maybe things will develop with the new studio. Hope it's not just completely limited to "the blue room".

You misunderstand. My point is that they produce hundreds of scenes per year on fantastic sets at a cheaper price and not, as DAP Addict suggested, a greater price.
LP may need to charge more for the scenes it produces given the sex content but clearly a decent range of locations is not a fabulous additional expense as these other studios prove.

We don't know how currently successful the old business models were at DDF or Private, or how they will operate in future under their new owner.
Maybe PornWorld and Private can go on producing shoots at spectacular locations and selling them for a reasonable subscription. I hope so.
I think Vixen Media have raised the bar for quality in that genre of content, which makes it tougher for the old guard to compete.
Meanwhile the LP studios have chosen to stick with their tried and trusted production formulas, churning out scenes in the same or similar spaces over and over.
Maybe the formula will continue working for them at higher prices. Or not. Time will tell.

The lighting and colour saturation do appear better to me in the first scenes from the new studio.
Seems less "washed out" than on the main set at the old building. Maybe it's the blue wall background. Or my eyesight.

Some of the scenes that I've seen shot in the new studio including the Polly Pons and Bree Haze scenes look really good. I mean technically they look very good, with very good lighting etc. I don’t know whether a new camera is involved to but the production values of these new scenes are the best in the business.

Seriously though, I know most of the forum veterans here are quite an advanced breed of porn connoisseur, but do you really believe that'll make such a huge difference? I mean you'll probably only see such furniture pieces for a total of 2min or less of screen time.

Porn IS staged. If you want "Real" porn go to many of the [spam] type sites that offer such vids. Everything in the world is trade-offs and compromises, you just need to decide where you make yours.

He's been doing that for MUCH longer than GG at his "white" studio. Yet nobody ever says one word about it. Not only that, but at least 50% of the other productions in the "valley" use his house as well. Never heard anything or anyone complain about the setting....

Obviously many photographers and film and TV cameramen around the world continually shoot great looking content, both mainstream and porn, in all kinds of interesting locations, indoors and out.
In the past Giorgio and even Gonzo have shot some scenes outdoors and indoors on location.

But it requires investment in time, skills, people and equipment. Maybe Giorgio doesn't want to go down that road.

Clearly it's easier to shoot always in the same studio where you control all variables 24/7/365.
Everything can be reduced to a cookie-cutter operation. Makes for quick, efficient and reliable filming.

But it also stifles creativity because there are fewer challenges to overcome and opportunities to do anything differently.

This is because Jules Jordan's house looks amazing. He has the bar area with the stools. He has an amazing room with a modern open fireplace. He has great outdoors locations.
Jules Jordan is a perfect example: you don't need a huge number of locations, you just need the ones you have to look great.

If you suck, yes, Sun will work against you, and as a professional photographer I can tell you that you need to work with it, not against it.

It is not as complicated as it sounds, you just have to move with it, and since you want variety of positions in a scene, that be can be easily done, and will make it more interesting.

Blacked has an insane amount of properly done outdoors videos. You just have to he professional.

That said, indoors is good too, but having a nice location makes all the difference. Something that looks modern, 2020, so it doesn't feel like I'm watching a video from 15 years ago.

Glass walls and balconies are always good, also rain ceiling showers, and modern chairs just to say a few.

Natural light including sunlight is by far the best lighting source, but capricious and unreliable.
Better photographers just manage to use it better.
For human-scale staging like porn scenes you can often use fill-in lighting and reflectors.
It's not rocket science.

All true, but Prague is not LA.
The closest in Europorn I see is Rocco's place bought long before 2004 when prices in Eastern Europe were still low.
Around Prague you can find those villas and castles used in early-mid 2000 US porn productions but you can't pay them nowadays anymore. So what is feasible is only a mix of good logistics and good looking rooms still.
New studio wont allow outdoor shots as far as I can see, or very limited basically non-sex ones like old studio.
What we'll get in turn are more rooms and a much better communicated studio.

Latter is important because it saves commuting time, making 2-3 scene per day shots easier. In new studio also parallel shootings are possible, of manpower for this is available really. In future for instance all GLab Piter crew could come over there and shoot much better porn there, also stacking up tool sizes with 1-2 local cocksmen. But its really just dreaming at this point. Anyway, it might not be popular idea, but porn shootings can't be too time consuming because crew, studs and also girls want leisure time as well.
Porn studio is a pretty basic place to shoot porn in a save, clean and functional environment out from public eye.

Finally, variety is in the mind of the director(s) more than just in the place porn is shot.

GioLab St Petersburg crew seem to shoot quite happily in borrowed apartments or AirBnB's in Moscow.
Many other producers seem to do the same in villas, apartments, yachts, etc. around the world. Adds interest.

Grandi doesn't want to do that, and prefers to shoot in his own studio, which is OK.
He's experienced and successful at what he does, and he follows his own formula.
Of course, there are hungry wannabe producers out there who want to eat his lunch.

Also GLab in Piter does have a core studio with a few rooms always shown in these films, but yes, the different Russian GLab directors also shoot in rented flats quite often still. In Russia porn production is still in a grey zone, in Prague its just a business as any other businesses.

This said, for some of his early stories GIO has rented places outside their studio. But its a lot of fuss, I do actually prefer them to invest more thought into their films than such logistics.
Also in Piter you see the pros of those studio shot scenes usually.

The Francesca Palma/Dylan set in the "blue room" has a bluish tinge to her skin (I checked the white of the ceiling in adobe premiere to confirm the blue-shifted colour cast) and the Polly Pons scene on the grey set is slightly greyed in the skin tones. I think Giorgio either needs to balance this out with his camera and lighting setup for each set (or more direct lighting) or, if he cannot achieve that, have a greater array of colours in the room to stop the effect.
Comparing those scenes to the Domingo and Leal scenes on the bright white set (which is obviously more neutral and looks more brightly lit) where you can the skin tones are almost perfect, you can see there is a bit of an issue here.

I'm not an expert, but I think maybe the Francesca scene was filmed a bit too close up against that big blue back wall, so they got some blue colour in the light bouncing back off the wall onto the actors. Perhaps if they staged the action a bit further away from the wall they'd have less of a problem?

Yea, looks like 3 main rooms so far. Above room, white with square windows. Gray room plus the dark blue room. Hope we see more behind the scenes to get a lay of the land. Hope Gio shows off what he's got soon, any surprises that he may have in store.

I think the "blue room" and the "grey room" are the same room, just opposite walls.
