I think there are some big studios that have worse production quality, that I won't name here, but yes we don't have a professional film crew or expensive lighting. They are trying to be independent and work in normal places e.g. office, restaurant.
Even though we live in a top, democratic, Western country...they are being paid only 7.55 GBP an hour (gross).

They were telling me, in net terms...for 3 hours of work, after taxes, NI deductions they are probably getting around 6.20 GBP an hour, which is equal to 8.30 USD.
Plus, in those 3 hours the amount of admin, work etc they would have to do would be incredible. It would be almost non-stop, with no breaks and maybe at best 2 mins to use the toilet if you are absolutely desperate.

For 3 hours that is 25 dollars.
