Views, Likes, Sales counter for transparency

Postby zeusanalfreak299 » Fri Jul 12, 2024 9:59 am

I have never understood why there are still no counters for views, likes and sales.

With views, users could see whether videos are viewed at all, including trailers. You would also have a statement as to whether trailers with certain models are viewed by an above-average number of people, but a video may still not be purchased. From this you could deduce that the model is perhaps more popular than average, but the content or the fetish in the video is not interesting.

With a Like function, it would be transparent for everyone whether users liked a video overall. It could also show the community that the studios are focusing on views and likes and not experimenting too much with things that are not wanted. It would also create an objective picture, because the same people comment in the forum and some are louder than others.

Models, especially newcomers, could be pushed much better if it becomes clear to the studios that there are an above-average number of likes. In the overall statistics, long-term models distort the overall picture because they have too many scenes in total, but are perhaps less popular at the moment compared to a newcomer.

I understand that sales is a critical metric. But honestly, can you deduce much from gross revenue? I don't think so. All costs are not taken into account. Especially expenses for things that nobody would even think exist. Plus, there could be a chart with the development of the sales. We could see the numbe of sales at the beginning, but also in the longterm. This would provide information of there is a significant number of users who want to support, but later with a discount because they have less money to spend or dont want to buy overpriced.

They should definitely be adding back the view counter.

I'm subscribed to a site that is pretty transparent and I can tell you that the customers are pretty critical at times. So maybe you can add a like button, but don't have counter for the dislike like you see on YouTube. We can't see the dislike number, but it should be part of the recommendation algorithm though.

Pornbox is mostly a European audience, so I do have more confidence that people here would be more respectful with their opinions, so maybe we can try the comment section too. I'm just thinking a lot about the women, but I'm sure most of them have thick skin and don't really care what social media has to say.

With that said, Rebel Rhyder has scenes over there with 98% of the viewers liking what they saw, so that just shows us how talented she is and how universally liked she is by the porn world, even by the most critical audience.

But I'm sure you know this, but I believe we can have a pretty good idea of how good the star is, based on the recommendation list after a few hours of release. The new website format does change the recommendation list in a negative way though. And all of the major studios do a really good job previewing in the trailers. Because the trailers are so well made, I know right off the bat if it's worth a purchase and rarely, rarely had I had buyer's remorse, and this is coming from a guy that purchased hundreds of scenes back during Pornbox's prime.
