"A Clockwork Gang Pilot" - absolute con

Postby TheVulture » Sat Oct 08, 2016 12:15 am

Just paid 5 tickets for this scene on the strength of the cumshots in the trailer. None of them are in it and neither is much of the other sex action.

I was aware that this was part 1 of a 3 piece scene but had no idea that the trailer's contents would be spread over the 3 scenes. The trailer did not advise this.

This is an absolute con as far as I'm concerned. Won't be renewing my membership as a result.
More non-manhandle scenes please. Hands away from face/neck/shoulders. Keep the girls loose, free and expressive. Don't overpower them - let them sizzle! Keep the heels on. More panties pulled to one side. More skirts/tight dresses. More 0% pussy scenes.

I just played the trailer back and there is a comment at the beginning that the trailer's contents are spread over the 3 scenes. However, it's in smaller type than that above it showing the names of the cast. That isn't enough for me.

Frankly in any case when I'm watching a porn trailer I'm not in the mood to learn/assess/take in information. I just want to watch a summary of the scene's contents in order to decide whether or not to buy it.

This isn't enough. It's a con. Be very wary of this scene/trailer.

My advice is always check the screenshots for whatever scene regardless of what you see in the trailers, then you have a an idea of what your getting from start to finish.
ANGEL WICKY * VERONICA AVLUV * FLORANE RUSSELL * BARBIE SINS * LYDIA BLACK * MONIKA WILD * NATALIE CHERIE * KIRA THORN * SELVAGGIA * HELENA MOELLER *LINDA SWEET * ANGIE MOON * REBECCA SHARON * CHARLOTTE SATRE *

Whenever I look at a trailer, be it for a site or a scene, I try to remember a few things.
The trailer is there to entice you, and for the most part, show you some of the best parts, because lets face it, trailers job is to sell you the product. It is safe to assume that what you see in a trailer is as good as it gets, and will not get better. Kinda like watching the evening news. You have to sit through a mountain of bullshit, just to get a glimpse of what you are looking for.
In LP case, I have been burned few times, so unless I specifically see what it is I am looking for in the trailer, I will not buy it. No exceptions. If I see half baked attempt at fisting, I already know it will be a flop. It will be 30 seconds of attempted 4 finger fail. Same goes for "balls deep" description. If all I see is tip fucking in the trailer... guess what, it will be a tip fucking circus. Anything that has the word "EPIC" "ultimate" or any other over hype word in the description, is an automatic pass.
Now, if you see something in the trailer that is not in the video, that is straight up bullshit. Even if the video says at the start that it covers all 3 scenes, and it is not clear what outtakes are from which part, that is just a deceptive business practice.

Personally, the Clockwork gang is not my cup of tea. I love the LP ways of the guys walking up to the girls and just burying the cocks in their asses. Ready or not. I am a huge fan of that. All this prancing around story line, not my cup of tea.
A skit style scenes would be way more fun imo, but to each his own. I checked out the trailer, and it left me wanting.
pass pass pass.

The trailer looked unbelievably enticing to me too, and I thought about buying it as a result but to be honest seeing that it was three-parts I just assumed I wasn't going to see much in the first part - there was after all a lot of set-up and "acting" (if you can call it that) in the trailer. So really, I'd issue this warning in terms of all things, not just porn/this site ---- buyer beware. If you were duped, it's your own fault. I'll probably buy it when it's complete, because I like "porn series" on other sites, but first release? Hell no. I like seeing things in their entirety. No way I'm going to be disappointed, as this guy was (unfortunately), by seeing an unfinished sequence.

But I kinda agree with the OP - showing the entire scene in the trailer is kinda false-advertising regarding what the viewer is actually buying - if you've only released scene 1. :(

I don't think it's a con, but I can understand why some people are unhappy. Maybe could be promoted differently

Hmm. So which is it then?

The scene and the concept in general are discussed there. I have no issue with the scene or the concept. It looks like a brilliant "scene" at least partly because there is much more thought that has gone into the presentation and set-up of the sex action than generally is the case with LPs scenes (where there is effectively zero of that).

My point is specifically to do with the trailer and the totally ineffectual way that LP advertised that it covered 3 scenes.

Even if they had taken more care to advertise that fact, having 1 trailer covering all 3 scenes makes it nigh on impossible for anyone to distinguish whether they want all 3 scenes or just 1 or 2.

If you're going to split a scene across 3 sub-scenes then you need 3 trailers. That simple.

Yes, we discussed that too and a number of posters raised the same concerns as you.
GG is aware and I think things may change (viewtopic.php?f=101&t=13173&start=80#p107878)

Actually I agree with most of what you say, the confusion with 2 scenes across 3 episodes (WTF) with 1 trailer (WTAF) has been an unwelcome distraction from the scenes and the concept.

Which is a shame because IMO the 2 scenes are both absolute triumphs. Kira's breakthrough scene especially deserves major props.
And Belle is luminous on screen as always.

I hope GG can fix it so the project continues and everybody wins

If a producer wants to make something three times as long, that he believes has three times the value, I have no problem with that.

It needs to be promoted honestly, which -- at least as this started out -- it wasn't.

Some people, for reasons that make no sense at all to me, like to see a story line in their porn, beyond just some trivial excuse for the costuming or setting. Me, when I want to see that, I watch something other than porn. I watch porn to see people fucking.

But that's me, YMMV. I won't buy these videos, but I have no complaint when others do, so long as they're fairly and honestly marketed.

I agree. The perv in me watches porn. The rest, I watch somewhere else.

^ There's nothing wrong with having a story that fulfills a fantasy. It's why many studios have parodies, or porn-series as I mentioned before. Though I will say with those you're guaranteed at least one complete sex scene with each episode. The problem here with part one is you got halfway through the first scene and then fade-to-black, which is why I think some were disappointed, and felt ripped off, b/c they're in the middle of the scene, getting good wood, and then.. "oops, what happened there? Did it not download the whole thing? Oh... guess it did. But - that's it?" (sighs). Compare to say, the Sherlock series on Brazzers or the Star Wars parodies on Digital Playground, or any number of other sites. (Which may be bad examples, just using them b/c they're somewhat popular -- and here comes the trumpeters "GG is soooo much better than them"... Yeah, yeah, whatever). Still, if you're paying 5 tickets for something, it would be nice if you got at least one complete scene. It might have been better to make part one longer than part two, or maybe skip the preview/coming next stuff which took a good deal of time. Could have even charged 6 tkts for part one, and 3 or 4 for part 2. (shrugs). Just MHO. But hey whatever.

For me porn is no different to conventional movies in that "suspension of disbelief" is important. Of course you know you've bought a porn scene so it's no genuine surprise when the protagonists start to fuck. However, that the scene sets it up in such a way that - at face value at least - the sex is surprising and that you feel you're the "fly on the wall" (to use a cliche) adds significantly to the heat for me.

If you were to flip this on its head - if you go to see the latest instalment of Mission: Impossible you know that Tom Cruise isn't really doing all of that stuff and that he's just an actor. However, if every 20 minutes or so you saw an overhead camera and Cruise turned to the screen and said "Hey! I'm just an actor, this isn't real!" it would obviously detract from the experience. The film is applying "suspension of disbelief" and there is absolutely nothing wrong whatsoever with expecting the same approach (if not the same lavish budget, sets etc.) from porn and thus hoping to "lose yourself" in the action.

Basically, for me the best porn allows me to think for large parts of the action that I'm not watching porn - that instead I've stumbled into some naughty fantasy world. The LP formula of the white room and the guys walking in naked obviously doesn't allow for that. There is nonetheless a place for "gonzo" porn and of course some prefer it, which is fair enough. I tend to tolerate it rather than love it and think it has a fairly low heat ceiling but can nonetheless be decent on occasion.

For all of these reasons, I very much like the style of this "scene" (at least going from the trailer - I now have no tickets until next month so can't buy scenes 2 and 3 and I'm damned if I'm spending more to reload after this experience). As I say, I'm incensed at the packaging in relation to the trailer and - as someone mentioned above - the fact that for my 5 tickets my scene doesn't even pay off with the completion of the first sex scene! It's a season ending cliff-hanger scenario, which is entirely unacceptable for a porn audience.

I'm a fan of Mr. Grandi's work, so I want to be clear that I'm not talking about him in particular, or even him generally. That being clearly understood:

Most porn stars aren't Tom Cruise. However good or bad you think he is as a professional dramatic actor, he is indeed a professional dramatic actor. Surround him with other professionals -- other professional actors, professional directors, producers, screenwriters, editors, key grip, best boy, yada yada, dial in some special effects, put it to a John Williams orchestral score, and you can get people to show up in movie theaters to see his movies.

People in the porn industry can also be very professional -- I'm not saying otherwise! Indeed, the difference between, say, Mr. Grandi's best work, and some of the other dreck we all see out there, confirms how much difference there is between well-made, professionally made, pornography, and home-made amateur stuff, even if you have the same performers with the same physical attributes and looks doing the same sex acts.

But mostly, people in the porn industry who've tried to make dramatic movie scenes have failed miserably, comically, ridiculously. Exhibit 1, for those of you with any kind of memory in the porn business, would be Bob Guccione, founder of Penthouse, a pretty good pornographer, and one of the very worst non-porn movie makers ever to get the cap off a lens. What he ended up making was bigger-budget thematic porn films -- e.g., "Caligula" -- that are now only memorable at all because they were such huge disappointments as either dramatic cinema or porn.

Now maybe someone else can do what no one else has yet successfully done since Edison invented the movie camera in 1897 -- which is to combine genuine porn with mainstream cinematic/dramatic moviemaking. But so far, I respectfully submit that everyone anywhere in the world who's tried -- and there have been lots! -- has ended up producing half-assed porn and half-assed cinema. Maybe Mr. Grandi's "Clockwork Gang Pilot" will end up being feted at the next Oscar Awards Ceremony by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, or it will take the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Of anything I've yet seen at LP, his work would have the best chance of that. But it's still a chance that begins with a zero, a decimal place, and then at least another zero.

If you ask me, I'd rather not hold my breath for that. I don't think he, or anyone, has remotely exhausted all of the possibilities for making compelling, hot porn, and so I wish he and his colleagues who distribute through LP would stick to that.

Again, opinions on this will vary; I intend no offense to those whose opinions are exactly opposite of mine. But for purposes of their guessing what the "marketplace" demands, count mine as a vote against investing time & resources in trying to make cinematic art, and in favor of spending that money instead on, say, flying Alex Grey to Prague to teach her how to DAP.

I will add this much, gladly, in Mr. Grandi's favor here:

I read Anthony Burgess' "A Clockwork Orange" in junior high in the late 1960s, then saw Kubrick's film version when it was still rated "X" (for sex and, especially, violent sex (the rape scenes)) in the U.S. in 1972, when I was in high school. (An adult friend took me to see it in a nearby city where he could bribe the ticket-seller to let me in even though I was only 16.) It was a brilliant novel that I've re-read several times, and I'm sure I've watched the film at least a dozen times again since then. So as an homage, and indeed one that's especially appropriate to his signature porn style, he's certainly chosen a fine subject. I viddied it all very well, little brother, and if you disagree with me, then: Come and get one in the yarbles, if you have any yarbles, you eunuch jelly thou! :D

It would be really cool if Giorgio could mix the best aspects of mainstream "sex scenes" where passion is depicted to detail, with hardcore porn, balls deep penetration Mike Chapman style.

In typical European porn, boys pull their dick out of their pants and penetrate the woman, almost without touching her or kissing her. Is almost as if they are trying to avoid skin contact as much as possible.

I want to see porn that depicts the highest level of love making, to detail. I don't want to see plots or stories, until the sex is worth the wait.

Otherwise just keep making gonzo scenes please :p
