Most customers will probably purchase one scene per day or less. So lets say LP releases 3 high quality scenes. Most will pic the best of the three, and buy that one. Why would LP release 3 high cost scenes and have them compete against each other. You release one good scene along with crap, which costs way less to produce. It also guarantees the quality scene good sales as it is the one most likely picked. The crappy scenes are there to give the illusion of choice, lower the production costs and set up the cost for the higher quality scene. If the crappy scene is (for example) 2 or 3 tickets, you will most likely pay few tickets more for the better scene, and if you pick the crappy scene the profit is the same. So it is a win win for LP, it is just business.

The problem is simple though for LP to fix about the to much high quality scenes being released. Simply stop giving the scenes away for free after there self-imposed time period. We all should know that LP metrics pointed out many customers were probably waiting for scenes to be free that weren't there primary fetish before downloading. I mean why not if the system is setup this way might as well take advantage of it. So there initial fix was increase the length of the self-imposed time period to wait but problem is that the scenes should not be free to begin with. I thought the whole concept of this site was pay for what you love so more if it will be shot (with in LP decency guidelines).

The scenes must have a shelf-life like any product.
Also, what if the market moves to "8k" HD, or finally achieves a popular 3D technology, or something else? It would be like getting caught with a warehouse full of VHS tapes when the market moved to DVD.

I remember in one of the many threads in this or Sineplex forum when LP first launched. XXX said that we don't have a coming soon section because we released scenes as soon as we are done editing them. It is wasted effort to create trailers for the coming soon section because it delays releases, what happened to that thought process. Why are we now holding onto content for years that it seems customers want to see. I think it all goes back to that decision to make scenes free after a self-imposed time period. Obviously at any moment without warning that time period can increased as it has so why not get rid of it and release the quality stuff that members want to see because they will have to buy it now or 5 years from now it just depends when they want to see it. Content, quality and video technology should determine price of the scene not self-imposed time period. If someone says it helps with piracy that is bullshit because a lot more of LP scenes are being pirated now. As soon as LP got rid of attestation the piracy sky rocketed (but I digress as this is another topic for another thread and time).
Simple solution:
Get rid of the free after a time period and release what we assume is quality content! When you have Rossella Visconti on [spam] telling fans that they have done unique scenes like TAP but LP has not released it yet makes it sound like LP is taking a page out of the old, fat, hairy, bald pig that is hung like a baby mouse book. Just fucking sad, keep leading LP don't follow!
