First I thought it was a one off, but it’s getting insane…

Last few days: Alisia over 10 tickets, Elena Lux close to 10 tickets, Ashley Woods 10.5 tickets.
And today another three: Jayla De Angelis 10, Julia Maze 10.4 and Veronica Leal/Vinna Reed 14 (!!) tickets.
Was looking forward to several of these scenes, but they’re an easy skip now…

I can understand there are sometimes price changes, but upping them by this much? If you want to drive people away, this would be the way to do it…

I feel the same way. I would really like to buy, but not at these prices. If this continues, I will only buy really special releases that are perfectly tailored to my needs.
As a result, only a few models will be supported.

It used to be different. I sometimes randomly bought scenes that I actually never really looked at when a good scene cost 3-4 TKT. Means I have really supported many models, even if they were not really top for me.

If I were to get a 20% salary increase every year, I would of course continue to blindly buy everything that comes out.

Perhaps there will be a shakeout. After all, not everyone will simply spend 20-30% more. In the end, only the best survive. Perhaps there would also be certain advantages in the quality of the scenes.

I agree with the better perks in the packages for members, and additional benefits for them. The prices of 10-14 tickets for a scene are way too high. Even with extremely high inflation recently, I think the fairest and best costing would be 8-9.5 tickets for the premium quality scenes. I am usually a hoarder of LP's scenes but at 10-14 tickets, I am also being much more reserved with my purchases.

Yep, you could get 6 scenes at 8tkt with a 90 days subscription.
Now it looks like you can't get more than 4!
In subscription plan it looks like an over 30% increase - while inflation is 10% max.

Good value depends on user needs.
What we get with studios who rose their price last 1-2 days is high end product.
Price rise is 2-3 fold inflation rate. Maybe it works out since its high end porn videos, next few days will tell.

However fair pricing used to be passing on LP core studio investment to end consumer prices. Now it would be just inflation rate.


With me previously 10-12tkt scenes usually went to shopping backlog and some of those 2 girl scenes eventually made it, some not, because at that price rate I got extremely picky. Now this would be 12-15tkt after price rise. Its little content I can imagine to pay 15tkt for 1 scene of about 60min.

I would like to hear from the Producers/Heads of the Studios on this, hopefully there is good reason but also, hopefully can find a way to make it a great value somehow, where everyone benefits.

I was ready to buy a scene tonight of a newer actress whom I am really liking, but at just about 10 tickets...no thanks!

Julia Maze is cheaper in euro's, but we need to pay almost 2,5 tickets MORE in tickets.

I am lucky to be having a fairly large porn budget, usually I buy two/three scenes a day on average (sometimes just one, sometimes even four on a good day). But I can safely say however if these prices are the new normal, I'm pretty much done here. Just recharged so still have around 200 tickets to spend, so I'll be doing that and then I'm out of here.

Julia Maze actually gave me the clue tonight. Its simply not possible that a Russian rookie import is so expensive in her first 4on1 DAP. Fees for Russian girls working in EU might be pretty same as all EU girls meanwhile, but no way a DAPdestination scene with a non-US import can cost over 10tkt.

I go normally for most DAPbreakin' scenes instantly and I also had asked Angelo for a new Vinna Reed DAP. Thus I was prepared to spend 15-17tkts tonight, but almost 25tkt? In this case I better go for the Yummy back catalogue and get 2-3 scenes there.

For me it was the Gio BTS that made me blink. Usually these are around 4.5 tickets, but the one from today is a little over 6 tickets. That’s an almost 35% increase…

Bought one scene from my back log instead. That will probably the way forward now until I’ve spent the last of my tickets.

Make of it what you will. Those are the hard numbers. FACTS. Especially in case of GONZO, I don't feel there is ANY way those prices could be explained away with any thing other than; they're pushing the limits of the very max amount people will pay. (XXX has said himself (and I'm paraphrasing here) "I'd rather sell a scene to a few people at the highest possible price, then sell a scene cheaper to MANY more POTENTIAL people.") Something along that ilk...

And as long as there is people here with little to no impulse control or more money than sense, the prices will continue to rise.

Just go back 2 years at a time, any month, but keep same month each time. Look at the kinda scenes you got for the money, better quality scenes, with more invested "workers" all the way around. But now they're all jaded, or burnt out, lazy or what have you. And you get scenes that are about as fun and erotic as watching someone get lobotomized or chemically castrated...
Now in GONZO case, back in 2016-2018 I'd agree that they were WAY too cheap, but that's on them, not us. There's no way that GIO & GONZO both kept producing & selling at a loss for 3+years straight. NO WAY IN HELL. Come end of year, they had be in the "black". I believe that GIO's pricing from 2016-2020 (pretty much unchanged) is the best representation of a "fair" price for both sides. Whereas seller gets good return on investment, and customer feels they get a VERY GOOD deal. Gonzo should've been priced closer to GIO's model back then (of course slightly less, because GIO was the "harder" of the two back then)

Anyway, don't know where I was going with that. It's 3:30am here and I've been up almost 48hrs now....

I suppose xxx and gio know their business but I wonder. I only use subscription tickets. So since a year, more or less, I can only buy 1 scene per week. Where before I bought several. So yes they got in total the same amount of money overall (my subscription) but less scenes get bought so in the end some studio must feel the sell loss

I'm a married man since recently, but I still like to support because I enjoy knowing my money helps these honeys to keep getting their ass fucked, but with high prices it is easy to just stay with the old school stuff, and the new scenes that are not so overpriced.

This is the thing. Costumers are also to blame. If no one would buy anything above 8 tickets prices will have to go down eventually. Anything above that price has to be justified. Like a Xmas scene makes sense to be expensive because it is 10 girls getting fucked in the ass, and usually all beautiful.

Again, 6.7 is the sweet spot. Subscriptions sites would produce low budget videos and high budget videos, and the price will remain the same. Maybe that's the route necessary, but new prices are not sustainable.

I'd like to buy the new Julia Maze scene GIO2107 to support the model. Same with the new Jayla De Angelis scene GL662. In both cases I really like the model even though I don't like her costume for this scene. Normally I would buy anyway to support the models even though I don't much like the scene.

But these sudden knee-jerk price increases really make me stop and think.

It makes no sense at all to me.

Studios/Pornbox could wind up prices gradually and many/most consumers wouldn't notice it so much and wouldn't jump to change their buying behaviour.

Yet they persist with this sledgehammer approach of sudden huge price shocks which will make consumers jump back temporarily or longer-term.

Now if fewer units get sold at the suddenly higher price, they don't know if it's genuine elasticity of demand or just consumer knee-jerk reaction to the price shock.

And the models will suffer because somebody will look at the numbers and say "she didn't sell" compared with a model whose scene came out a week earlier at a much lower price.

I hope that Julia Maze and Jaya De Angelis won't miss out for future bookings as a result of this. I think they're both wonderful models who deserve success.

I have to agree. I used to be happy to 'take a punt' on a new girl at 5-6 tickets, but once we get into 10 ticket territory the price is so high I have to get VERY picky. At that price only the most premium scenes with favourite stars that tick every single box for me are going to get purchased.

That's what I'm most concerned about. If the established models continue to do their business, even with expensive scenes over 10 TKT, because they have an extremely large fanbase.... and good newcomers disappear with only 1-2 scenes.

For sure that is a way out, at least in the short term. And only for us as consumers. If we don’t buy new scenes at these bloated prices, then eventually the models will suffer.

Unless of course there are enough people who blindly click on the buy button to make it worthwile for AV. In which case they likely won’t give a fuck about the concerns that consumers have on these practices.

As you know I have been wanting to change this system for a long time and use direct, real prices instead. The problem is that it is a risky move that is dangerous for people who rely on us.

It´s quite strange that this prize increase happens just when I went into a relative overdrive of supporting models throughout the last half year . Relative for me bcuz I don´t buy as much scenes as other users. I think I had to take a new subscription within less than 30 days bcuz running out of tix ( The last time this happened was during the golden age of Gonzo 2-3 years ago -- clean classical interactive Gangbangs ) .
Did´nt write down purchase date / prize history but I will be more careful with the new conditions !

I have already mentioned that Yummy went into their best phase with many newbies and great scenes even within a week :
From 11 Oct until March 24 I got 6 scenes and I would have bought more if I knew for sure that the models weren´t retired .
As mentioned before their prizes are very costumer-friendly and I hope they will stay that way and also continue with many new models and supporting the recent newbies etc...

In this period I also have bought 2 scns by MamboPerv : One to my satisfacion , the other for supporting a beautiful newbie .

Was happy to support the first DPs ( good scenes ) of 2 models where the studios are not usually of my taste : Mei Cornejo and Wild Nicol .

Lat NRX scn I bought was the 5on1 from Hot Cocoa in October : Not as rough as their other scenes and as the dry version of a piss scene you don´t notice that piss would have been involver ( no disgusting wet hair ) .

Now to the 2 big fishes :
In the last 6 months I got 7 Gonzo scns and 5 Gio scns : I will have to cut this down if I want to have enough budget for the other studios with their newbies .
More specifically leave out some interesting scenes from the famous models so that I can support great newbies also on Gzo and Gio .

Examples :
__Kristy Black´s 7on1 for Gonzo in November was just irresistible ; but from the 3 ( ! ) Sapphire scenes I think one should have been enough . Not all were great , but first I wanted to support her first DP and then I got over-excited twice ....

__ Chloe Lamour´s Black On Blonde from December has some great interactivty and I will use many gifs from this anthological scene ( minus the Buttr-se ) as perfect examples ; but then I got overexcited with Julia Red´s comeback ( also bcuz of forum hype ) which isn´t nearly as good as her old Gangbangs .

Now the time has come to work on a cool head and I will watch more carefully how often a studio brings back their newbies , will do background checks if new models do also soft scenes / solo nudes on other sites that interest me ; wil also check their social media if they plan to stay in the biz for a longer time .
All these factors will influence if ´ll buy a scene in the future .

I think that if a girl is particularly pretty and/or very popular, she could deserve a higher fee - depending on negotiations.

Should that cause a higher selling price for her scene? I guess that depends on how high a price the studio thinks they can charge before price elasticity of demand results in too many customers turning away and not buying.

You could argue that a popular girl should sell more copies and so earn the studio more income to pay her higher fee, without needing to increase the headline price per copy.

But we don't know the inside numbers from the studio's perspective, so we don't know what is really happening.

The studios will argue that they face higher costs. Of course, we all face higher costs in these days, and consumers can look elsewhere for value or cut back their discretionary spending on entertainment. That's the risk for studios who put up prices.

I do have a question for xxx however. A quick scan tells me only the scene price in tickets has (insanely) increased. The price in Euro’s (the buy now option) is more or less the same. So now I have over 200 tickets that I just bought that have (without warning) overnight decreased in value by 25-35%. Can I be refunded those tickets, so I can spend that money instead by using the ‘buy now’ in Euro’s button instead? Unless you’re planning to increase those prices as well?

It’s not just newer scenes that cost more. E.g. the Dellai twins AGO scene was 9.4 tickets when released then went up overnight to 10.4.

Basically we make a conversion from the USD price content creators set in their admins, to TKT, so that they get roughly the value they asked for each sale. It's an impossible exercise because the Porn Box tkt prices are all over the place. But it is our job to try and make it as close as possible.

The old conversion from USD to TKT was too low. If I take today's best selling scene for example, from Angelo, at 13,9 tkt, he actually asked to sell it at... $15.45. Many of you will actually still end up paying quite a bit less than what he actually wanted.

Even then I think these prices are insane (but not as insane as what we see in typical clip stores), when you consider there are full memberships with thousands of vids for the same price. I think everyone needs to realize that their prices have gotten out of control and it is alienating their customer base (especially when you release relatively traditional content - small specialty content actually requires higher prices to exist).

I would like to get rid of the TKT system and use real prices instead but if it was to produce for example a 20% decrease in sales it would be the death of several studios.
