Some say they weren't the most original but personally I like them. This band from Ireland heavily indebted to the Incredible String Band.

Gonna take me a while to listen to all of what you've posted. Certainly looking forward to it. Also I take it you mean literally three months without any Internet access this time? Or gonna drop in once in a while still?

I used to be a huge fan of this band and by extension Danny Elfman but haven't really got around to listening to them much over these past few years.

I just won't have it, unless I use a library, but you have to be careful what you look at in libraries etc of course

Don't know if you're still around but some reviewer that I found quite entertaining and genuinely sympathetic in his approach was Mark Prindle. He just came to mind again, I hadn't read his reviews in years. Take a look if you like.

Thanks so much. I'm trying to work out a plan that I can get two Sim cards on the one monthly subscription to tide me over for a few months without internet. If I can get two Sim cards on the one plan, it'll mean I can access some data and drop in on a smartphone someone sent me once or twice a week, until broadband comes into the area. We'll see. It's all so damned complicated. But thanks. I'll check that out.

Also how weird the Timo thing. Freaked me out.

Very entertaining. Thanks.

You might wanna try this album, maybe first low-fi minimalist rock album made. Kicks the shit out of his previous stuff, which I always found highly overrated. The reviews are nice on youtube, cool guys commenting, those who know their stuff.

Great music. Really great music. And it led to the Band music from big pink etc. It all came from here Bro.

That album runs on a playlist

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dF-FY8rqA1I

Lord, who could come up with a song title like that in pursuit of commerciality? A song about St Augustine in 1967?

Obviously I won't be online so much, regardless, but really we both should be on a music forum, not here. That Timo mention you made has me stunned. Who knows who's watching what, when we are purely innocent.

I know little of big tech, but they scare the shit out of me.

I hate the bastards.

no one can blame me.

I think the Timo thing would either be the channel owner himself reading the forum or someone who knows Timo or even Timo himself asking him to remove the interview for whatever reason.

By the way, for some reason some of the artists aren't arranged alphabetically on Prindle's site, so I suggest using "CTRL F" key combination to search for artists, I just noticed that being the case for Bob Dylan when checking his reviews of his stuff.

Kudos to user Iddaoeeok who told me about 3 years ago, I should be on a music site. He was probably looking out for me.

I think the problem was it's all like a Venn diagram. You can love sports, you can love military history, natural history, you can love music, you can love and honestly give the respect to the place that porn stands in relation to those things. But it was only on this site that I was able to hit that glorious spot where it all came together.

So thank you to LP for that. For giving me that window to express myself, pull it all together.

I can't be more honest.

Yes, you can post pretty much about anything you like without overzealous moderation and be open about all kinds of things and that has a certain attraction. But most of all, it's one of the few surviving forums that haven't completely died down and succeeded by inferior discussion platforms such as Reddit. Well, Reddit, man, I detest that site but for certain topics or pretty much all of them there's just no way around it these days.

Anyway, for music Rateyourmusic.com or forums.stevehoffman.tv can be pretty intriguing but I wouldn't recommend jumping straight into the charts on Rateyourmusic since the mainstream of that site has pretty much become more focused on the "poptimism" phenomenon. But specifically seeking out artists pages is pretty much always worth it. I guess their forums are all right too these days, haven't really checked on them in years.

Mr. Netzerkaiser. You may find this cover atrocious but it's the sentiment that counts. Looking forward to your return, brother. ;)

Thanks Anselm.

I haven't got the broadband sorted yet, I'm in a friend's house right now, so I'm connecting on a lot of things that I can't do at work.,

I don't miss it. I thought it'd be really hard, but an off-line life is just great. I don't want to come back. Some of the crazy shit I see on here, I just don't want to be part of.

I have a connection on this site, & one day when I'm in your part of the world, I'll try to get him to link us up, & we can meet & have a few beers & talk music.

I have a long memory & I don't forget good people. You have completely invigorated my feelings & pleasure in listening to that authentic English folk music of humility, music without pretence like so much of the fake 'rebel' stuff from other parts of the British Isles, & I thank you for that.

What am I listening to now, in the rock genre, I'll show you, but it seems this is really taking off as a stellar performance, even though the material isn't great, the playing is, & they blew the Stone's off so much on their own show, that the performance was hidden away in the archives for 50 years.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJv2-_- ... 8OiMXXxRJA

I won't be back here, broadband or not, but somehow I'd like to think we'd meet up some day for a beer, leave that with me.

Cheers for now, thanks for the shout-out, & thanks for the great musical tips. These two were my favourites. Long may I listen to them:
