I don't know if the angry, misogynistic slant to porn since about 2010 that I abhor is the principle factor (I suppose I think and hope this in equal measure - the hope means a way out that runs parallel with my lust fantasies) but I'm 100% sure that it isn't down to liberalism.
What would liberalism mean in porn? I suppose maybe 2 things:
1. The generally accepted definition of "liberal" leading to lots of different versions of porn (so yes, some "manhandle" etc.) but very definitely not with the same tone running throughout all of it (again we're back to manhandle/male aggression, which exists in about 95% of modern porn scenes to at least some degree, even if we're only talking the odd face slap or throat grab, which didn't exist pre-2010).
2. The social/political positioning of "liberal", which would translate to an empowerment of women in the industry and the avoidance of anything portraying them in a negative light, eg aggression, humiliation, de facto subservience etc.
Whichever of these you apply - or applying both, if you wish - it is clear that liberalism either hasn't tried to assert itself on porn or has and has failed miserably.
Can you clarify what you mean by "liberalism". I like your style generally but I fear this is your sort of knee-jerk response to anything you find disappointing, symptomatic of people with a very market-driven, consumer-focused (and perhaps but not always right wing) take on things. It's much easier, after all, to blame all those pesky do-gooders out there than face up to difficult self-analysis, even when there is precious little evidence of any do-gooders in your vicinity.

Looking at the statistics, the studio lowered its output since Q3 2024 by around 75-85% at least (not counting "RELOAD" as output).

Andrew X misses an opportunity right now. There are no studios (paragraph above) actively producing hardcore content in this niche. There should be sufficient people to buy his scenes, he has room to scale. People are just tired and leaving (see forum activity), because all this RELOAD and a scene every now and then...

95% of porn will be AI driven and generated in 10 years from now, the work of "porno model" will disappear almost totally. You will buy soon a DAP gangbang with the girl of your dream at less than 1/2 the price, looking as real as the real one. You will know its AI because it is written in the title.
It will be really, but really soon.

but in a world in which almost everything is run, controlled, overseen, or participated in by women
That surely can't be a serious comment.
I get the idea of OF being "liberal" in a sense....I suppose only in that it softens porn to the point that pretty much any girl can easily partake of it without too much worry of stigma or doing any of the hard yards associated with hardcore porn. Still, it misses the point. Liberalism/feminism in porn would only be achieved when women are in control (or at least equal players) and engaging in exactly the acts of their choosing. What evidence is there that the girls on OF are sexually satisfied? Me, I watch the likes of Julie Silver and Lucy Lee in the Private era and I see horny young women getting their rocks off whilst leaving behind a body of work that entirely preserves their dignity (at least in so far as hardcore porn can). Is it possible to say the same of girls in hardcore porn today? Clearly not. And OF doesn't really count, because it's merely a capitalist outpost for savvy women who don't want to engage with their inner lust and fantasies, just fleece the most gullible blokes out there.

So question still remains what happens 2026 to 2036.
TheVulture wrote:...when I see an old Julie Silver or Lucy Lee scene or even more recent girls like Ariadna or Henessy, my dick gets hard at the first sight of them because of that learned knowledge and appreciation of their screen lust. When you lose that, you probably lose something quite important. Also, that pull that these girls have created over time becomes powerful from a consumer point of view. You want more scenes from those girls (up to a saturation point but this is quite high) because you know they instantly deliver. Can AI replicate that? I doubt it.

Try to give something that AI can't - the twinkle in the eye, the lustful glances between the performers, the bodies of work performers have built up etc. etc. (...) it feels like the only hope real porn has left.

dap-addict wrote:This said you still have to be aware that also Julie Silver and Ariadna performed porn for money and were porn actresses first and foremost.
