Maybe some old scenes that are only available in 720p could be remastered and re-released in FHD but lest you want to resort to going down the awful path of AI-based upscaling you won't get much more out of them than that modest resolution upgrade, if even that.

there's a potential domino effect in this bottleneck that goes beyond the distribution and payment side, and starts undermining creators that provide the product in order for pornbox to have something to sell. if pornbox kills the goose that lays the golden egg then it's game over

I think Pornbox will be here and MAY even be making more money. What they're doing is replacing their customers with new ones. It's a risky strategy in any business, but it may be less risky than trying to make ever more extreme porn with an ever shrinking pool of models.

Apologies for the necro response but I just wanted to point out that there is a very poppin AI upscaling scene going on in the P2P world. So much of the adult content from even 10 years ago is zombie content that no one is going to do anything with but license to fatten up some other site's content library. Bright side though, most of the classic gonzo DVD porn that is getting upscaled is anal and DP content from either your old fave Euro studios or the better US producers. In any case, many Sineplex scenes have been done with more surely to come.
