In fact, they have (unfortunately) been quite popular in America for the last couple of years.The reason you're just now seeing them in Europe is because there's about a two-year time lag for Europeans to copy whatever becomes popular in America.
Within a couple of years, almost every European girl will have a hairy bush and/or be covered with tattoos, just like almost all the American girls are now. Of course, by then, the American girls will have moved on to hairy legs, hairy armpits, face tattoos instead of makeup, and God knows what else.
