No idea if this affects just the studio and management, or also actors/actresses. If it is the latter, I'd say the odds of some of the male actors ending up as cannon fodder for Putler's murdering hordes is higher than zero.

Everybody who was at those studios at such a bad time is probably sitting in jail right now.

Another more likely theory could be that they simply started to make too much money and the taxation service took a notice.

Not a lawyer, but it’s almost certainly a taxation issue.

The Russian police are only going to allocate resources toward breaking up large studios. EKS became quite large indeed. This means all other large studios, including NRX, are at risk. I wish him the best, but he is probably right to lay low for a while.

Fortunately, in Russia, you can also pay off officials to escape scrutiny.

Well, there are so many snowflakes nowadays that are also Internet trolls at the same time, so it wouldn't surprise me to see an angry X social media snowflake bothering Russian police to go raid these places because his white knight fanaticism makes him think the platonic girl he felt for was taken advantage of, which we all know is straight up ridiculous. I was saying the political situation is much worse in Russia, not that wealth inequality is much worse, although your anecdotal evidence about the tourists is not very relevant because they were members of the upper-class in all likelihood. With 525$/person you can go in a 4start hotel on the red sea (Hurghada), all inclusive for a week, including airplane from prague. From Russia is probably even cheaper
(hurgada is not Maldives I know, but its very, very nice)
