Implement a simple rating system

For videos. Youtube style: two options only, like or dislike.

Restrictions:

You can only vote AFTER buying the scene. (you shouldn't be able to criticize without first seeing the content)
You can only vote once per scene. (more than once defeats the purpose of voting)

Implementation:

When browsing the site add a line to the top that features "Recently purchased videos" and each video has one preview picture (to know which video is it without opening other tabs) . The picture has two options, like and dislike. and the line can show like the last 8 scenes or so that you have acquired. ALSO, add this option, to all scenes in the PORNBOX.

If this is not enough maybe add a reminder 24 hrs later after buying a scene?

Why?

IMO sales alone are not 100% reliable when you want to understand what made a scene especial. What if the girl is such a rare jewel that seeing her do *anything*, will sell, for instance Lucy Wilde. ( I imagine knowing this is important). But IMO the action in her scenes (the ones that I saw), was pretty "meh"

As a customer, maybe you purchased a scene and felt disappointed after seeing it. But, The only way of expressing that right now, is going to the forum, although I'm pretty sure most ppl don't bother doing that: Using myself as an example, I go to forums when I see a scene I like so much, I want everyone else (especially LP staff) to know what I liked, so it gets featured more often. But I rarely go to express my disappointment. So all LP is left with, sales numbers.

For instance. Blanche is one of my favorite girls, because she looks amazing and her ASS gape is great. But I also think she is pretty static and has yet to get fucked vigorously, to the point she horny and sweaty and fucks back. She's like cruising through the scenes.

Voting is not going to make everyone rate the scene, but it will most likely capture the opinion of a bigger percentage of the users.

The problem is that this skews the results, as people who like the scene are much more likely to buy it. To illustrate with a somewhat silly example, imagine if the trailer showed 2 guys fucking each other in the ass. Only gay guys would buy it, so it would likely get a high rating, even though most of the members would probably hate it.

I'm not sure I understand your point, TLA; you wouldn't know you liked a scene unless you bought it. If you meant people who liked the trailer are more likely to buy it, then the results would be beneficial to other like minded members. Your mistake is assuming that buyers of certain scenes would automatically vote positively. For instance, I've seen previews containing certain girls I like (Kerry for example) only to be massively disappointed with the camerawork or the intensity of the scene after purchasing it. In this case, despite liking the trailer and buying it, I would of voted negatively. I understand your point was silly but it also has no relevance here. A relevant example would be something niche like piss scenes. If you watched a trailer containing content that absolutely doesn't appeal to you, chances are you wouldn't buy it anyway, but its vote results are still helpful to those who maybe would.

I personally like the idea, I wouldn't mind seeing its implementation in some form or another.

I wouldn't use it, but I wouldn't be opposed to it either.

I was assuming the purpose was to help the site decide what types of scenes to produce. If they decided to produce more of a niche that was getting high ratings, that might be a big mistake, since most of their audience might dislike the niche so much they refused to purchase it, and thus would have no chance to rate it.

A better system, in my opinion, would be to give each paying member a monthly allotment of votes. You could vote for or against any scene, regardless of whether you had bought it, and you could cast multiple votes on the same scene (until you ran out of votes), which would allow for the expression of strong opinions. If you really liked (or really disliked) a scene, you could express the strength of your opinion by using a large percentage of your votes on that one scene (although of course, that would leave you fewer votes to use on other scenes).

We will add voting, only for the persons who own the full scene.

hmmm... Helping decide which niche to shoot next, is one thing, HOW is that scene captured and what happens during the action, its another and its completely different.

I was just thinking of this, why not have a rating system for all the actors too?

I think a rating system is definitely a good idea (for confirmed scene purchasers only).

Also, I'd like to see a system for members to pay how much they like for scenes. All scenes could have a minimum "base price" and members can choose to pay more than that price if they wish to show extra appreciation of a scene. This could be implemented as a second ticket transaction following the purchase of the scene. I think this would be a good tool for xxx to see the potential profitability of different models and scene types which is something he can't really see at the moment as his profit is largely determined by the price he chooses to assign to each respective scene.
