How do you see the balance: Plus by quality or minus by numbers?

Call me a hopeless optimist and romantic, but for me the most painful official porn retirement in 2023 was Kira Thorn, who didnt perform for a few years already, but there was always still hope she'd return one day to Prague to earn some good money with her love for BBC and her incredibly sensitive DAP craft.

I do realize she went a long road since the time pandemic forced her to stay in India while her then BF made it back to work just in time before shutdown. She grew tremendously as a person. Great thread. Its so hard to distinguish between old scenes newly released & comebacks.

I think some girls just take a break, or a long hiatus...which is very understandable...in the real world, people take sabbaticals to look after elderly parents/grandparents.

Women take time off for childbirth, and raising their kids (especially for the first few years of the baby's life).

Some people decide to go back to education and study for degree(s).

Even in some cases, there are people who say they have officially retired from porn, and will never be coming back...but they do end up coming back...

Silvia Sin worked in Jan @ GIO still. She might just have gotten re-booked or will still get by the end of the year. Sarah Slave, Miriam More and Sabrina Ice might be retired longer already, they didnt work in porn in 2023 as far as I know. The rest shot porn still a few months back.
I think to define retirement we'd need at least a 10-12mt absence. Just not shooting for half a year isnt something exceptional in the way porn careers are managed today, at least in Europe. Many girls just work 10-25 days per year on a porn set and the rest of time they earn money on amateur platforms and/or social media.
