Looks good, I wanted to write a program to keep a handle on my growing collection but then I realized I was watching the videos on my big screen more than my computer. So instead I used a similar system sirnoelplum! Armed with the knowledge that ever since the release of Windows 7 and higher Microsoft has developed a great general purpose search and indexing mechanism. I used naming convention that I add to end each file:
- keeps the original name of the file intact
- added model names to file
- add keywords of sex acts I care about (anal, dp, dpp, dap and airtight)
Quick xample:
double_stuffed_scene_2032_1_allDP_DAP_MischaCross_SandraLuberc_StacySnake
*** this makes it easy for me to see that all girls performed a DP, but only Mischa did a DAP
Finally, I add the file to a specific folder because leaving it in the same folder would be a nightmare for a smarttv or streaming devices like an playstation or xbox to step through until you find what you want. My folder convention also based on personal preference:
- root or top level folder is the company name in this instance Legal Porno
- under this folder I create and another folder with model name or company category
- the model name always overrules the company category in my convention
Quick example:
legal porno folder
-->3 on 1 folder
-->Sandra Luberc folder
*** with my convention the scene below goes into the Sandra Luberc folder and a shortcut in the 3 on 1 folder(shortcut only helps on computer not relevant on streaming devices):
3_on_1_scene_2036_1_Airtight_SandraLuberc
*** using the naming convention above and seprating files into folders I can find scenes quickly on the computer with explorer search or on streaming devices.
Another method:
You could add some information to the files metadata but I found streaming devices I own did not fully support it so it would have been wasted effort. To see result in explorer switch to content view in explorer, turn on detail pane and if you want to add personal metadata you can right click on the file go to details tab and add info. You might have better luck with this method. I needed to find files quickly on my computer and streaming devices that is why I did not use this method but for computer only looks kinda neat and you get a thumbnail (predefined and I haven't checked to see if its changeable) of the scene. I have only done this Windows 7 and 8.
