Thanks for this major update, Mack. What a coincidence! I was about to comment regarding the ADT forum again and decided to check the kind reply you had posted for me when I first joined PB. Then I see this huge update from you about xvideos! I actually like xvideos and the old-school feel. So I just video-captured one of my recent searches there as there is a chance the site might go down or soon have a much more limited functionality. The so-called good old days!

It seems almost a necessary but useful evil for a free-sample comprehensive site, yes, a tube site, to introduce the average porn user to a potentially favorite model and some of her works. It certainly has been that way for me. Thanks to a site like xvideos, I have subscribed to favorite sites like 18onlygirls (2x), straponcum (4x), Brazzers (2x) and several other sites.

I think the average user with a limited attention span does not want to jump from one paysite to another and hope for a fresh hottie, but would rather do a quick check of the population! On the other hand, of course, is the immense amount of content stealing in general and copyright violations.

The xvideos site had cleaned up its act a bit; for example, by offering links to straponcum from the user-submitted straponcum videos, although the straponcum site eventually went defunct in mid 2022.

Given the current environment, I was surprised that xvideos had avoided the card issue for so long.

That happened to R18, the official site selling all Japanese porn to the West. Probably the largest porn site on the Internet with professional content, and it is gone now.

Luckily the Japanese site DMM is still functioning fine, but I imagine losing the international mirror site was a huge hit to their finances.

Worrying news...

The porn industry is struggling enough right now without card companies/web hosts taking on the role as the worlds moral police.

Thank you Visa/Mastercard for deciding what is right and what is wrong and protecting me from filthy immoral pornography!

It took me days to get some crypto when I was introduced to it because I wanted to buy some crypto-only videos. And even though I supposedly got a good deal relative to other crypto providers, the videos cost me at least twice the original price because of the extra charges involved to set things up. I have steered clear of crypto stuff ever since. It also was not easy to navigate through the various steps.

The point is that many people may not want to devote the time needed to set up a crypto account.
Some crypto terminology and ways of doing things are fairly involved. Just give me my crypto!

But of course it is a reasonable alternative to the banks.

.... N/M I misread. Xvideo's had major copyright violations - which is likely more related to the reasoning. I thought it was in regards to LP/Analvids.

I checked a few minutes ago about 10 uploaded videos at xvideos, including a few of Katie Cummings, Kelly Divine, and some camgirls. Each video also referred to the source website.

From xvideos:
"Our content partner program is only open to content owners and content creators. If you are stealing content, please don't bother. We will verify. You must also be the exclusive owner of the videos you upload. We do not have a program for (non-exclusive) licensed content at the moment. However licensed content is fine if you are the only person uploading it on XVIDEOS."

But another Kelly Divine video had this comment from co-performer Richard Mann:

My Xvideos Red still works fine. They actually have a lot of full scenes from here on there to watch officially uploaded by the likes of Toby Dick, Stalker Prodz, NRX, VK, Pissing E Anal Fantasy, Erika Korti, Yummy EStudio and more. A good way to check if a scene is worth spending my tickets on.

Thanks for the update, petermc934. Hopefully this is some sort of an inspection and adjustment period, because the site has made some significant improvements.

I've seen replies mentioning crypto, so I'll just say this;

As a general, cover-all common sense rule of thumb (not only for myself, but really a message for the public at large), DON"T TRADE SOMETHING REAL & TANGIBLE (also actually factually worth something) FOR SOMETHING MAKE-BELIEVE!

I also prefer a download over a stream, and, ultimately, a DVD over a "NetFix."
