Ideas to Increase Forum Discussion

Like any site, majority of discussion is driven by a small percentage of forum.
Any ideas on how to increase participation and for those of you that don’t post often, is there any specific reason on site that turns you off?
1). For me, I had no idea how to link images easily and was under the impression that I have to download each picture and attach it. Luckily a forum user noticed I was taking the long way and showed me how to easily link image.
I didn’t see it in FAQ (may have missed it). Making this more obvious would help.
2). Ticket prices have almost doubled for my preferred studios! So less scenes purchased means less to contribute. But I doubt this will change.
3)Allowing comments under each scene that way we can discuss that scene specifically. Although there is a thread for each girl, discussion about a specific scene gets lost in the sea of comments. People are more likely to discuss that scene right when they buy/watch scene rather than seeking out the performer thread in the forum.
4). A coming soon section like most other sites have would facilitate discussions about the scene before it releases. People will have questions about what is going to happen in scene. For example in evil angel and adult time you can see that there is some comments before a scene even releases. Also, some comments mention that they are going to specifically join/stay a member
5). It would be helpful if there was a separate section for amateur content. I recommended this site to a friend and he was overwhelmed and thought it was mostly crappy content. I told him about customizing home page and he figured it out. But your average new potential member won’t see it immediately and clicking on first few scenes may make them assume that all videos are of amateur quality and turn them away if they weren’t professional.
4)This may be up to us participants but in adult dvd talk there are list of reviews of movies and I think that would be helpful to drive users to buy scene. Trailers showcase best parts so I trust reviews more.

just a handful of people are posting, and everyone is like taking corners.
my thread with 1804 views got only one comment.
that is very detrimental, how I might keep on going.
hey, I won't get mad if you diss my gifs or thread but please say something.
this forum is dying.

This is obviously the intention. There can be no other explanation of why we still don't have a separate section for the amateur "studios".
New visitors are supposed to see all the gay porn and all the home videos of grotesque looking people having pussy sex in the dark. And they are supposed to turn away right at the door and they are supposed to take their money somewhere else.
Just look at Evil Angel. They also brought in amateur content at the start of the pandemic. But then they stopped doing that. The only one they really kept around was Scarlet Chase. And her videos have pretty much the same high production quality as any professional producer.
So why is this? Well EA is obviously not trying to deliberately hurt their own business and brand name by turning their website in to a shit show. They have a quality control that they maintain over their product.

Great topic! Totally agree!
I would like points 3,4,5!
Regarding the amateur content, it's definitely a turn off for new visitors.
If they don't click on the best seller list or if they dont click on a specific studio like "sos sineplex" from the golden era, they could leave and subscribe somewhere else.
What I miss more is a reaction function. I would like to have a like or don't like button for comments and scenes.
So great content in a forum would get more acceptance and weight. Also feedback to specific studios with poor quality (e.g. light, camera work,...).
The majority are used to click on a reaction button instead of writing or answering comments. That's the natural laziness.

This thread?
viewtopic.php?f=96&t=48243Comments can detract from threads like that, so for myself I tend to only reply if I have a particular recommendation to add. Others may feel the same? I do wish this forum had a 'like' function though so people could easily acknowledge posts. If you really want a comment I'll mention I don't actually think several of your suggestions really fit the thread title. I
prefer them as a result but the likes of Rebel Rhyder (28), Any Taylor (32) and Emma Fantasy (30) seem odd inclusions to me. Obviously if I'd mentioned this in your thread it would have detracted from it and so is another reason I have chosen not to reply.

One simple suggestion I'd like to see trialled would be a pinned thread in this section just for people to recommend any particular scene they've enjoyed and why.

just encourage people to type...does not matter, but just get people typing, reading, replying and sharing their thoughts...that should increase forum activity.

Bingo!
This would be great!
My impression is that most posts concerning a certain scene are based on trailers only and not the scene itself. We usually get comments within a few minutes or hours after release, but usually just based on pairings, fetish or styling of the girl, nothing more specific most of the time.
Also my general feeling is that porn users today care little about production process, but only the result. Actresses and actors become de-humanized that way. For many years I try to steal against, but even the now more rare directors input doenst help to change that.
Most users rant always about the same - usually BBC/piss - but dont want listen why.

In terms of comments about specific scenes, I tend to post something positive if I've enjoyed a scene but won't normally comment if I haven't. Realistically I'd do the same if there were a comment section for each scene (like e.g. AdultTime has) but I'd still support the addition as being more useful that the current model thread approach. I'd be more likely to give a negative response via a thumbs up/down option on the scene though. It's not that I never post constructive criticism but most of the time I do so in general rather than highlighting the failings of a particular scene.
Often I watch scenes long after they have been released and so comments added to scenes would be more readily visible to others considering the scene that me posting in the model's thread will, at least for those with many scenes.
When I do post before watching a scene I usually make this clear, including sometimes noting if I've bought a scene on the strength of a trailer but likely won't watch it for some time (my usual approach).
