Porn numb

First off, I've been masturbating since I was 5 years old, thats over 40 years of it. Been watching porn daily for the past 20 years. I am finding I am kind of porn numb these days, where porn isn't helping. I'm sure age and medication has something to do with it, but I'm beginning to think too much porn is effecting my ability to get the job done. Anyone else going through or have already gone through this? If so, have you any thoughts on how to get back into the swing of things?

Everyone gets burned out occasionally.Take a week off to recharge, or even a month if necessary - no porn, sex or wanking at all. At a certain point, you'll be horny as hell and desperate to return to porn.

If you are still not horny after taking a substantial break, then it's either age or whatever medication you're on that's killing your libido.

Take a break from porn, you will come back and it will all be ok.

yes, the most efficient is to make a break, give your body the time to reload the battery (at least 2/3days), your porn lust and skin sensitivity/erection will come back

when I realized I wanked too much and started to become a "try harder", I said stop that shit, no more wanking

some years ago, I tried something awesome and much softer for the dick compared to wanking: silicon vagina :D

with a warm tube, the vagina/asshole are heated, the feeling is outstanding. you watch your lovely butterfly doing porn stuffs, switch off the tv and become the porn superstar with your fav cutie ;)

not as expensive or heavy than a sexdoll, 7kg/300€(name: monster wet kiwami), the hip of a slim 18y old girl, you can have a lot of fun and have the feeling to fuck the girl (with a lot of imagination ofc!)

Take a break. You may also find that less porn less frequently is more stimulating and satisfy long term too - I do. Personally I also find some variety in types of porn I watch is important, meaning I don't just watch scenes from here.

I'm mid-forties too for what it's worth but how frequently I watch porn has fluctuated throughout my life.

To put a different spin on this, I think it's actually quite remarkable how enduring the appeal of seeing beautiful women having sex is  .

Supposedly, porn induced ED is a major problem for Millennials and Zoomers. Combined with meds and age, it's no surprise.

After 40 years, it's a big part of your routine. I would seriously think about going into rehab.

I dont think rehab is needed.
Just take a break, Seraph, occupy your mind with something else completely for a few days, go on a trip into nature, read an interesting book, watch a few mainstream films.
I'm just back from a business trip and before some shorter illness I just felt too bad to watch anything at all - and its so great to have a backlog of 14 days to browse for shopping and watch some of those new acquired scenes mixed with some old ones! :)

Also another hint: Try once to watch porn more detached, without wanking, just more concentrated on how its all done and shot. Its a good training if you can't leave watching porn.

You're only 45: you still got battery power in you! I'm 5+ years older than you.

It happens. Stress from work to me is biggest factor. I find on RnR (rest & relaxation), libido booms. When stress from long working hours dominates, libido declines. I can imagine its same for combat troops in war-time.

But aging is a factor. I quote from this marvellous English humour:

Mick: Here Keith, have you seen the date on these marshmallows? They're well past their sell-by, they're getting old...
Keith: Then they're like us man...

Good advice here. Yes, a break of 14 days (nothing, don't check the forum, look at releases, or browse any porn) and your brain will reset. This won't be easy of course but worth it.

you can go too far down the rabbit hole. After the break you can try to figure out how much time to spend on porn to create a good balance.

After the 14 day pause, it would like ending a strict diet and eating an apple would taste like the most decadent chocolate cake.

Watch out for medicine side effects as well. Doctors are increasingly putting people on SSRI antidepressants, which can cause erectile dysfunction. I was put on it without anyone telling me of this side effect, it killed my libido and made it almost impossible to cum. Once I realised what was happenning, I stopped taking it, but it took me ages to get past it. Once you start getting a psycological block that maybe your boner is going to collapse and nothings going to happen, it's always lurking at the back of your mind.

Take a break, like a month or two. It's normal to get bored or numb to porn if you are watching it every day. Things are not as exciting when they are routine and easily accessible.

For me, my porn watching goes up and down. If I am getting desensitized or bored I barely watch it, then I get back into it and am having a lot of fun. Taking a break helps with anything in life. Refresh the mind. And being away from it will make it exciting once you return.
