How did the Wiska situation play out? Was she Ukrainian Crimean, and when Crimea flipped Russian she applied to Czech republic for citizenship rather than move to Ukraine central (because of the ongoing military tensions and NeoNazis etc)?
I vaguely remember photos of her protesting parliament, so I'm really glad to hear she managed to get that issue resolved to her satisfaction. Wiska is one of my all-time favourite performers, so I dearly hope she is living happily ever after.

I hope Nicole can work something out, and definitely do keep updating this thread as and when you know more re practical things members might do to support here (eg. template letter to CZ MPs or petition).

Were she Ukrainian it would be easy, or at least far easier. Sadly the media-fuelled Russia-phobia in Europe is pure paranoid-hysterical right now (just see the calls for boycotting Russian porn here), so she will need all the support she can get from settled EU residents who can vouch for her being a 'good Russian' and not a 'bad Russian' (the prevailing villainous stereotype).

And how can we help her beyond that we ask such things in comments, and when we are not Czech?

Its just a small start, but courageous Russian citizens like Nicole Black can't be sent back from EU to that tyranny after their visas end!

Obviously EU must help people who can't live in Russia because of their personal view!

I assumed (and depending on how dap-addict answers your question, I may have done so prematurely) that as dap-addict follows many of the Russsian performers' social medias very closely (and has also interviewed many for the interview thread here, so may be in contact with them ongoing as a consequence of that), that he was relaying developing news provided by Nicole herself in some form.
It would certainly be strange (and potentially reckless) for anyone to initiate a campaign of this kind if the initiative were not coming from the performer themselves.

But there is a need for clarification as to exactly where the momentum for this campaign is coming from. So I second your call for that.

And I hope Nicole is safe wherever she is at present. Solidarity with her, and good luck to her, whatever her plans are ❤

As far as I know she's still in EU.
She stopped by for Belarus protests during her previous Prague trip.
Integration of Belarus and Russia puts her at great risk of extradition and prison.
She can't return to either country, as simple as that.

She didn't join the protests in Belarus, she was only an observer.
I hope she is safe and hopefully she's aware that now she can't do anything to stop the war but she can do many things to create a better world in the following years and decades.
So I hope she takes care of herself.

Let's just hope she is safe and well in the first instance...
