I don't think they would use the "BEST SELLERS" scenes for "RECOMMENDED" as this would just be duplicating that list - also further cluttering the frontpage UI.

You raise an interesting question and I've given it some thought. My uneducated guesses it could be a combination of factors, I'll try to list my guesses here. For consistency I'll just refer to the porn-scenes/genre in my list as "product"

1. There is an algorithm/automation that rotates product based on what has been sold in the last period, to avoid exhausting the popularity of other product.
2. They look at other sites such as Pornhub, xvideos, [spam] etc. to see what type of product is trending. This can give a picture of what product is on the rise and what is declining in interest/value.
3. They receive weekly, montly and quarterly generated data reports of how much each product has sold. From this they may see a declining return on investment from the a previous period.
4. They allow the directors of each studio the opportunity to promote their content so that they also are given a chance to sell product to their targeted user base.

Maybe it is a few, all or none of these that factor into what gets product is selected for the front page. This is just a few of my guesses.

I did suggest that our friend, Vagabundo, should maybe think about learning some new words. As it is, thinking in the extremely crudely binary manner in which he does relieves him of the burden of actually doing any original thinking and of forming his own opinions - this can be comfort to people for whom the world is scary and incomprehensible.
