With tube sites sharing LP content how do studios still manage to make a profit and what steps can be taken to prevent piracy of LP videos?

I am not an expert but my understanding is that most tube scenes posted are either trailers i.e. promotion or lousy low resolution copies.
Many tube sites are also owned by the same who owns the pay sites.

Online piracy is common, torrent sites are the bane of many large media corporations.
Profits can still be made for sure. Not everyone is a cheapskate!

Core is building customers loyalty.
And educating porn users, give them a share in fair porn production.
She is not material ofc, but a feeling and an understanding. Fair pricing and fair and pro treatment of girls is an important part of it. Customers also need to have a decent amount of say on what gets produced.
Forum is crucial in this process. It still works pretty well here, but too many directors keep out of the forum.

It's impossible to prevent piracy. When you have option to download video, you can't control what person can do with video. Obviously, updating this on some torrent or other download service is breaking law, but still you can't do much. Probably report it etc. But you would need person who would do that 24/7 to just control every possible site and report it with low chance of removing it.
As dap-addict said, solid prices, building customer loyalty is key. Studios now fighting not only with piracy but with sites like [spam] etc. For many girls, being here is their marketing, to say: Look I am here, and then you go on their site where you can buy subscription, PPV videos etc. which generates for them bigger income then scenes.

I think the primary motivation for anyone to buy scenes by their favourite models is very simple:
'if your favourite performer is not selling, then the studio will drop her and you will never see her again'.
Put in those terms, it's basically emotional blackmail of the sweetest kind. half-a-dozen tickets or we'll break your heart!
Speaking personally, I am suffering from a deadly serious case of the Cyber Shot's at the moment.
I caught up with her most recent scene last night and I am still absolutely on fire about it today. I can't sit still or concentrate on things I am supposed to be concentrating on (which is actually supremely annoying, because I actually have sh*t tons to do this weekend!)
Even more stupid, I only meant to drop in quickly this morning to post a 'Gonzo/Petra, please hire this model (Cyber Shot) immediately' comment in their forum thread and then log out not to return for days.
Yet here I am barely four hours later. And why back so soon, you may ask?
Well (no shame at all...) because I suddenly decided I *had to* go through her thread to work out the release dates of all her scenes so far, in order to have a decent idea of when the next one will be released.
I won't keep you in suspense, the gaps between her scenes have been 10, 9, 8 days respectively.
Therefore (all things being equal, and no guarantees) her next scene release date 'should' fall on thursday at the ealiest (8 days from last) or Saturday at the latest (10 days).
Being excited about a favourite performer releasing scenes is a genuine thrill for me (yes, it's f*cking annoying too, in a lovely way, because it can be super-distracting when you have things you are supposed to be doing... but such is love).
Drugs don't turn me on, or drink, or shopping, or gambling, or any of the traditional vices, but outstanding porn starring a performer I am obssessively passionate about really does. To every soul their desires, and that is to be respected.
So if me buying her scenes helps make the difference between my favourite performers appearing again or not appearing again?
Take my money!
