While I do agree with most points, I still find gems and I try to post clips of the best bits to encourage more of what makes sense. Unfortunately there is seldom more than 10% of a scene which is new and inspiring.
The comment about the editing and directing out of personalities is spot on. Yeah I agree. I made good on some of my recent comments and cancelled a couple of weeks ago as I'm now taking a zero tolerance approach to throat-grabbing, face-slapping, arm-twisting etc. Previously I tolerated "a little" of this as I felt I had to and there were pros to just about offset the cons but I'm not prepared to do that any more. It just turns me off seeing those things even for a nanosecond so I realise that I'm sort of constantly fighting the pornography that is meant to be turning me on and what is the point of that? If a guy grabs a girl's throat even for a second then it shows that he felt entitled and enabled to at any point in the scene so it breaks the fantasy for me, which is of hard but consensual sex with the guys and girls as physical equals (also to support the idea that the sex happened spontaneously as opposed to being staged porn, which is as important to me as the fact that I just don't like manhandle). A split second of throat-grabbing is really no different to an entire scene of it with me these days. It isn't what got me into porn and stirred my fantasies back in the day so it won't do that now. I guess I've tried to adapt to it a bit but am now (happily) resisting that notion, because it just doesn't work.

Tied in with this I bought a couple of old Giorgio scenes the other week where the guys did that thing of sweeping the girl's hair out of view the entire scene. I literally had my head in my hands watching these and it just made me realise that basically the vast majority of the LP studs literally spend entire scenes doing exactly what I don't want them to do (ie physically dominating the girls with their hands and actively trying to make them look less beautiful and sexy). It was definitely a bit of a "What the hell am I doing here?"/"Modern porn is just not for me" watershed moment.

Oh well, whatever, nevermind as someone once said. It is what it is and I'm an adult so I accept it. I'll do what I've always done in leaving be for a while then checking back (maybe in a month or 2) to see if any new trailers appeal. But if they do and I still find any manhandle in bought scenes I'm off again. That's the new aspect of this spell away and is entirely fair both ways. If LP start making hardcore scenes with zero manhandle, great - I'm back and they can expect a fair bit of cash from me. If (more likely) they keep to their default manhandle or "something for everyone" pick-and-mix style within their scenes (which is a nonsense) then they can still do what they've done for the last 5 years in taking money from me in spurts but it will be less money and in shorter spurts. Basically I'm just going to be a much more savvy and demanding consumer from now on. I have tons of porn amassed over the last 20+ years and don't really "need" more so it has to be literally perfect for my tastes to attract my cash now.

Having said all of this I thus think it's unlikely that I'll buy many LP scenes moving forward. It just isn't aimed at me. I accept that. It seems sad when my favoured style of porn seems to me to be really the default style (ie nothing especially niche or edgy about it, just good hardcore porn without any extras) but there it is. If porn in general ever gets its sexy back and rejects the whole male aggression/ego thing then I'll be back but I accept that this isn't likely and certainly not at LP, which has really completely embraced this new style pretty much from day one. We will see anyway.
