I know there have been a few threads in the past about hand positions that hinder scenes but I can't find a recent one so thought I would start a new one to get some discussion going. For me this is really becoming a problem with Giorgio and Gonzo but much less so with Yummy Estudio.

Personally there are lots of hand positions I don't like so I guess you could say I'm quite fussy but I'll fire away.

Probably the worst and one that I don't get at all is when the guy crosses his hands over (left hand on right hip and vice versa). I basically recoil when I see this as it just looks so clumsy and contrived and also partially blocks the view of the girl.

Another one that basically Yanick Shaft started maybe a couple of years ago is when the guy plants his hands (one on top of the other) in the middle of the girl's back. This just looks really geriatric but also doesn't look very relaxing as there seems to be downward pressure into the girl's back. I would imagine it's a little uncomfortable for the girl and also makes it look like the guy is really straining and using a lot of energy pressing down, which detracts from his fucking quality. The annoying thing with this is that it really seems to have spread across the other LP guys of late, especially the Gonzo crew. I've seen scenes where Shaft starts off doing this and basically every other guy that follows then copies it, which makes the whole single anal doggy section pretty much unwatchable for me.

I also don't like the frequent use of left hand on right buttock. It just looks ungainly and seems to have the effect of twisting the guy away from the girl slightly, like he's hanging off the side of her rather than thrusting directly into her. And again it will partially cover some of the view of the girl. This isn't a new thing by any means - I have 20 year-old scenes from Private, Evil Angel etc. with this in it. I can understand to some extent that it can be useful to pull a girl's bum open for extra penetration (although using the correct hand is surely better for this) or a gape viewing but normally this doesn't seem to be the guy's intention. It looks more like a show-boating kind of thing from the guy and again I just recoil from it.

Finally a new-ish one is a real trend for a guy to put 1 or both hands on the girl's neck or shoulder. I hate this as well just because it's very male dom and more than a bit arrogant. I want the girl to be able to move at her own will and think when a guy does this he's just looking to assert his superiority over the girl. It just brings with it a real stiffness that I don't find at all sexy. I want to enjoy the girl's curves and see her bending and gyrating to her preference, not just being held in a rigid straight line by a stud.

So....what do I like? Well call me dull/old-fashioned but the classic one is "left hand on left hip, right hand on right hip". It's just much more aesthetically pleasing but also positions the guy square on for maximum thrust.

Maybe even better though is the new-ish trend for the guy to make a real effort to put the hand nearest the camera (generally the right) behind his back with the left hand often resting somewhere off camera (the side of a sofa generally). This just looks great and it's also a real sign of porn stud prowess I think. I think pretty much every LP guy can do this and has at some time but the Yummy Estudio guys like Ed Junior and Vinny Star do it the most and seem to make it a point of principle in their scenes. It's one of the reasons that I love YE and partially explains why their scenes tend to have the hardest sex action - the guys are concentrating 100% on their fucking without any hand fussiness.

Whilst I don't like the hand on the neck/shoulder I'm OK with a guy grabbing a girl's hair to promote it or give it a little pull. This can be quite good if done well and I know that a lot of girls do like having their hair pulled during sex (an ex of mine was into this). I prefer for the guy not to do it for too long though, again for aesthetic reasons and so the girl has a chance to move during the scene (if she wants). Unlike the hand on the neck/shoulder it does give the girl a chance to respond and there's a good opportunity for the girl to react to it and for the viewer to see this reaction.

Worst doggy hand culprits? Yanick Shaft as explained, Neeo also for his fidgetiness - generally in a brief doggy anal he'll move his hands across all of the above placings changing every couple of seconds. But basically I would say that all of the Giorgio and Gonzo guys have some issues, with Rycky Optimal, Thomas Lee, Freddy Gong and especially Erik Everhard being the least likely to succumb. Those 4 are the guys where I feel most confident that I'll mostly get stuff I like in doggy anal without having to hit fast-forward.

OK let's throw this open. What are your preferences and are there any that I've missed? Do you think it matters in the way that I do or can you basically enjoy any hand positions in doggy scenes?

Look, the girl has to arch her back in single and also double anal for the position to look good in cg. Thus if she doenst do it herself actor(s) have to press her back down.
Only problem I see with Ian is he could give the girls a chance to do it herself after he initiated it first and only carry on once she doenst arch her back fine. Same for all other LP guys ofc.
But anyway, her back has to be arched for the scene to look fine.

It's clearly more of a preference on his part and doesn't in any way help with the arched back thing as far as I'm concerned. It just looks geriatric and clumsy.

Regarding the OP point, I agree that arms that get in the way of a nice view are super annoying. At NRX, where I buy most of my scenes now a days, the main offender is usually Vega. He has an uncanny ability to always know where to put his arms or legs in order to ruin a perfectly good angle. To be fair, it has gotten much better lately as evidenced by Mia Piper's latest scene, but fear not, Vega still managed to get his moments:



All of the examples above lasted for at least two screenshots in the gallery, so it's not just positions changes or camera movements but long enough to get on my nerves.

Lol, OP, going through everything you disliked, I was left wondering what the hell you did like. Besides what you said (basic left hand on left hip, right hand on right hip), the only possible hand position I could think of that you didn't touch on was the dude back there doin jazz hands

He can play her ass-cheeks in a kind of visual music improvised in jazz style.

And I think it would work best if the guy's groping is non-symmetrical, where he gropes only one of her ass-cheeks at a time or where he does two different things with her two different ass-cheeks at the same time. Because when you make it symmetrical, then it looks planned, artificial, and contrived. But when it's asymmetrical, then it looks natural, spontaneous, and unpredictable in a hot kind of way. Asymmetrical groping looks spontaneous and symmetrical groping looks artificial. And this goes for groping the lady's tits too. A guy grabbing one of the lady's tits looks hotter than if he grabs both of her tits at the same time.
