What you think is the best time in porn in your opinion? Not only just with LP, in general?

I'd pick 2010 to 2015

Lot of A listed stars were coming to LP, even though LP was not their forte.

LP has changed a lot since 2018, on a business side, things maybe working out for them, but I don't like most of what I see on LP today. But sure, once in a while stars like Mina, Kirsty, Polina Maxima etc are giving out good scenes and I am happy about it.

I did not want to make the poll long by giving many options, if I were to divide it between 5 years, it will be just too long. Completely agree with your points mentioned above, if I were to pick only from LP, I would pick the same timeline too, but in general for me, it was 2010 to 2015.

I will have to disagree.

I would say that this is the era that the gonzo style really went mainstream in a big way. And this early mainstream gonzo was often in many ways harder than it is right now. Manhandling and deepthroating is something i remember seeing way more often back then. For EU porn the most typical exaple would probably be PerfectGonzo headed by Raul Cristian. Also teencoreclub.

And this is especially true for porn in the US during this time. US porn today is all style over substance. But back then it could be really rough rugged and raw. Studios like Anabolic Video where really pushing the envelope and we had teen stars like Sasha Grey doing some serious hardcore.

Both Raul Cristian and Anabolic/Diabolic were rather studios of 2000-5 than 2005-10. Raul started his most influential PG scenes 2004/5, but a lot was released on dvd (EA) only in 2006. Anabolic already started in end 90ties and 2007is was already a decline.

Also Chico Wang, to name another great but controversial US director to push envelopes produced in 2003-5 rather than 2006/7. Please remember that a dvd released in 2006 often was shot in 2005 rather.

Finally really important for me is DAP-availability and DAP production.
Here it was really a fast output dwindle in 2005-10 compared to 2000-5.

Perhaps a more correct periodization would be 2003-2012. Raul may have started just before 2005 but he was active on PG up until 2008. I would say he made his most influential scenes rather in 2006-2007.

This below is how I feel. I was watching more American stars back then but there's are some great names and really down for hardcore. I think this was the dawn of DVD, profit was pretty high for any content and the rates were largely high for the girls. Go ahead and add teens like Keri Sable, Jasmine Byrne, Jade Marcella, Chiquita Lopez, and beauties like Angel Dark, Sandra Romain, Belladonna. Tough choice. Each era has its own appeal, of course, and I could list the pros and cons of all of them, but that would take a while.

I'd have to pick 2000-2005 because it had the best combination of great directors in their primes (Rocco, JYL, Jay Sin at Sineplex) along with one of the most fruitful talent booms in porn history. We saw a lot of all-time great female performers make their debuts during this time (Sandra Russo, Lucie Lee, Wiska, Angelina Crow, etc. and that's not even looking at America!) and even the B-tier girls were gorgeous. On top of that, we saw a lot of all-time great male talent as well, including Kid Jamaica, Manuel Ferrara, Lexington Steele, Westley, and others. There was no HD video yet, but the movies did everything they could within the limitations of SD, with great lighting, vibrant colors (and a well-chosen variety of palates), and distinctive framing and camera work that gave each production its own unique flavor. This was the golden age of gonzo porn, when experimentation and variety within the genre were at their peaks. Online porn was available and there were dedicated online production houses, but tube sites had not yet taken hold, so premium-quality porn still had to be purchased. (There was piracy, of course, but it was not something the average Joe had the time or knowledge to do.) This was great for the health of the industry because it meant that customers were able to see previews for free and pre-judge the quality of the content (remember TGPs and clip galleries?), but still had to pay for the full package, which kept the money flowing and allowed producers to generate content quickly and painlessly.

I actually thought a very long time of 2000-5 vs. 2010-15 - and at the end I just let my dap-addiction decide because I couldn't make up my mind. But in terms of directors, girls quality and ideal 2000-5 was far better ofc. In todays internet times i just wouldnt be happy with so little DAP scenes per month anymore. But maybe meanwhile I'd jus re-watch those scenes more often and have more fun than I have with todays pretty decent number of DAP productions at least in Europorn.

If it were possible to combine the creativity, directing, and talent scouting of that era with the technical quality, selection of fetishes, and availability of today's era, we'd come closer to perfection than we ever have before.

That's not to say that we don't have some great talents in today's ecosystem, because we do, but it's undeniable that there were more of them in the 2000-2005 era.
