If You are interested in idyllic countrysides with a hint of "eastern" European exotism, I recommend You eastern Poland, especially the regions of Suwalki (Suwalszczyzna), Bialystok (Podlasie) and Lublin (Lubelszczyzna). These are the least developed and the least populated regions of Poland with exceptional countrysides and the largest and the most interesting national parks in the country (Biebrza National Park and Bialowieza National Park). However, these are also, unfortunately, the most conservative regions of Poland - the stronghold of current polish ultraconservative and mysoginist governement.
