Some sad news to report in this update: friends of veteran adult performer / director Brandon Iron (a.k.a. Brandon Irons) and the mother of his child confirm that the AVN Hall of Famer died by his own hand in Ireland in July.

MikeSouth.com broke the story of Iron’s strange disappearance on July 31.

Iron had recently gone through a break-up with the mother of his child. Some say she kicked him out of the house and found a new man. Brandon soon went MIA.

After friends and business associates began expressing concern because they could not reach Iron, his ex went looking for him and found him dead in a loft. She states that Iron had hanged himself.

A memorial is planned, but details are not yet available.

Brandon Irons / Brandon Iron
The native of Calgary, Alberta, Canada was born 51 years ago, on July 14, 1968.

Iron’s iafd page lists over 1200 performer credits.

Ah dam, I just realized also Alexandra Stein died in a car accident, dam.
But Im not surprised how someone used her death to somehow promote himself on FB, not even "the death" is not a reason enough to commemorate someone without talking about his own pornography.
--

I did not know much Brandon, but he was part of my "holy porn trinity" with JJ, Rocco and JS and we had good time together a few years ago in Prague. Nice guy, totally different from the person I thought
About Alexandra I can tell even less as I did not have the opportunity to talk with her that much when she was in Prague. She was apparently a good person, hard fought over the results of her career.

When someone I met passed Im profoundly moved, its like a part of the industry passed with them. Im getting that knot in my stomach that bring you back to remember how the life is short and how often we spend our time with meaningless fights.

Very nice moving words.

Ad for Brandon Iron, I know mainly his PXP cumshot and barefoot films. He never was an important director for me. But reading about such a death I am just stopping and thinking about RL dramas and how hard it can all be BTS. I can't imagine why he did what he did, maybe depression and not only his wife leaving him for another guy. But what this story sure shows me is that biz and film image is one side, but RL life may be completely different. Porn is just fantasy. Rest he in peace!

Not only Salieri, same goes for Woodman. This very stupid 100% idiot is using this sad news solely for his own agenda again, letting the people know that Legalporno is responsible for Brandon's suicde.

dap-addict wrote:[...] I can't imagine why he did what he did, maybe depression and not only his wife leaving him for another guy.

Well, Woodman said Brandon got depressed because big players like Legal porno (and LP's mother company) are getting more powerful every year and are thus eating small producers like Brandon. He said Brandon had less and less money in his pocket because of this. He said, that's why he killed himself.

My opinion: Woodman uses the death of a colleague to put archenemy LP in bad light again. What a lowlife. I think this is a reason why Woodman himself would put a knife in his liver one day.....He is so stupid, because the reason for Brandon's suicide is mentioned in the Mikesouth link: http://mikesouth.com/porn-deaths/r-i-p- ... and-49289/

Tube sites and Legalporno's mother company has nothing to do with him killing himself. Every content owner protects their stuff the best they can do, Brandon included.

Wife left, took kid with her, and found another man. The man got depressed about it. Then wife found him hanged in Ireland. More than enough reason for the irrational man to kill himself....But of course, there is always lowlifes who must use such sad news for their own promotion and fight against their enemies.

Was he really irrational? I doubt.
All I wanted to say is that for such an act there could well be a deeper problem like long going depression, bipolarity etc.

Makes me all just really much more sad now. And I even didnt know Brandon and even didnt like him much as a porn director, more as a actor character, that yes. :(

Well, if you have a small daughter who is in kindergarten age and fully depended on you , then yeah, you're irrational, irresponsible and selfish in my opinion to kill yourself if your relationship with the mother ends. There is ALWAYS light in the end of the tunnel, even if it might look like your whole world is crumbling before your eyes right now.
2019-08-05_182224.jpg

The XXX-biz is also full of people using dope, so PERHAPS a shot or sniff of dope could have been the final straw that pushed him over the edge. You have to realize that you have one life to live. There is no life after death. But to use this sad story for your own benefit , i.e. slander your business opponent and arch enemy by spreading #fakenews in which he says that Legal porno is (indirectly) the cause for Brandon hanging himself in the room or at a tree branch (two stories I read), is just vile beyond words. 100% lowlife. Pretty sure Brandon would vomit in Woodmans mouth when he heard the #fakenews his "ME-first-TOP-EGO-"friend" is spreading on the internet....

For what her told me when we met, he was doing good money with his channels.
He shot some scenes in Prague, Did not ask any discount, he paid all models a fair fee.
I doubt anything could be connected to the industry about how he passed.

About the rest, I think would be more respectful to avoid anything not directly related to Brandon in this topic.
Thank you

It’s hard to believe all of this.
One think I clearly remember is that he was proud of himself about his ability to renew himself on different platforms than dvd. Also he was looking at his “generation” where most of his friends in the industry passed by their own hands (he named someone but I don’t remember names, I remember he told me about someone that jumped from a bridge or so) or they are in misery or stuff like that.
So, to me it looks unreal he took his own life.
I met him recently, 2-3 years ago, he shot for a week in my place and I’m pretty sure he was more than sober

Guess you were right. Some more background information is cummin' out:
https://avn.com/business/articles/video ... 41576.html
In that case it's a mental sickness, but I still think that the majority of people with mental issues will not hang themselves if they take the right meds and get the right treatment, especially when there are also (small) kids involved. This shallow business called porn, isn't good for your mental state anyways as we all know. On top of that a divorce where the wifey stays in Ireland and he goes back to LA, thousands miles apart form his kid, yeah, can see how that is a deadly cocktail for someone in his shoes.
But what I was going after was that now is not the time for certain people to make up #fakenews for their own battles against competitors (without showing proof for their claims whatsoever!) Using the dead, who can't defend themselves is low, especially if you pretend to be "friends".

Some quotes from the AVN article:

Kick Ass Pictures founder Mark Kulkis, who was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame along with Iron in 2018, recollected, "I first met Brandon in 1998 when I was working at Legend [Video]. Brandon was going through one of his funks at the time. Throughout his career, he would suffer these bouts of low self-esteem where he was convinced he was no good and declare he was going to quit the business. In this particular case, his loss of confidence was my gain, because he sold his almost-new camera to me at a bargain price. The same camera, incidentally, that I would use to shoot Barefoot Confidential, Chica Boom and the other titles that would establish Kick Ass Pictures.

This only learns you that you never know against which mental battles people might be fighting against behind that superficial contact you have as colleagues or "friends". It's a word which is used too often and too frequent by people anyways. If you're totally broke and kicked out of your home, how many "friends" do you still have left? Will they invite you to stay with them for a couple of months (if needed) and provide food and drinks until you get your shit together? Very few will do so.....In the end you're on your own. People in your life (especially co-workers or people who you'll meet in a social setting e.g. sport clubs) for the most part are only passer-by's, sometimes the same goes for your family. It's a fucking war out there. ME FIRST. Unfortunately, that's the world we're living in today.

There has never been a time where anyone, but really anyone, can monetize interesting content "at no cost" but only profit as now.
When "porn" went from DVD to internet, the market opened to many other people but in the last 2 years, with big platform where everyone can publish content and get a revenue (without to think about to find the traffic because the traffic is already there), the market is even more open to anyone with interesting ideas.

I recently got in touch with several people that makes a life out of it, publishing content "for pay" on these platforms and than getting also a great incoming publishing on free tubes. They get more money that producing for a "normal" pay-sites, almost the double and with less afford.

The true is that "big company" (owners of revenue-share platforms and free tubes) are willing to "share" more than small company their profit involving other people, without to even consider how 15-20 years ago porn was in the hands for "few senators" that try to block anyone from entering in the market.

Who did not adapt to the changing of market can only disappear, and this is valid for any market, not only for porn.

On another tome lets maybe start to remember Brandon Iron just for the caring and compassionate actor he always was on set.
Just keep him in good memories!
Also for sth that goes missing often a bit nowadays in new kind of porn.

Just came across this in another part of the forum: Brandon and Steve on Tolly Crystal in Budapest 2001 or 2002:

Caveman, what Pierre Woodman is saying is actually true....
Small companies do not have the power and money to protect their movies from piracy.
A good example is the recent closure of Defyxxx.
Read their story here: https://defyxxx.com/vod/blog/closing-shop.html

Re: R.I.P. Brandon Iron

by Giorgio Grandi
Pissing, you are very wrong.

The problem is not the piracy, the problem is the attractivity of the content, the way the content are proposed and of course the traffic.

There are many people that makes a life just uploading content on MV, endless number of models upload their content there and get a big cut without to spend time to run a website and to find traffic. This makes the life of producers difficult, because a model doesnt need anymore agency/producer/director to enter in porn, she can do everything herself. The radical expansion of cam sites offering to model/user the possibility to purchase/create content is another trouble of the industry as it is now.

Than, piracy is not something so big like it way years ago. Most of big tubes not only do not accept illegal content, but cooperate with producers offering a cut on ADS, this cut involves also models. There are many system to protect content from pirates and except on really few websites, it works well.

To accuse piracy when a website is in trouble, is like to tell no one is spending money in porn, and this is simply stupid. I would never use torrent, too much waste of time, and I would never watch a video uploaded on pirate tube as the quality sucks, I would go on a website and spend few bucks to have fun. There are enough people ready to purchase, but you need to get to them and offer something interesting.

Without to go in the details, some years ago popped out a insane number of website thinking everything will stay like it was, but every industry changes soon or less, and if you dont adapt yourself evolving your destiny (rightly) is to disappear.

The point is not that now is hard, the point is that 15 years ago was too much easy to sell porn online, now that the games is "normal", like in any other industry, you need to work "as a real company" to make it. You cant believe people came to pay in your website because you have been someone 20 years ago, but you need to give them something most of website doesnt give.

Other point: changes of generation wants different content, this needs to be remembered. There is a time when its right to give up, before to whine accusing everyone of your own failure.

Giorgio,
Small companies suffer more from piracy, that is what Defyxxx says.
LP can offer small production studios a professional umbrella, under which these 'small' production studios can be successful.
I could imagine that Defyxxx would have been successful when working under LP, who knows....
Maybe their content was not that good after all.....
Of course, it is hard to compete with the best ;)

Btw, completely off topic I am afraid: But did Dfyxxx even offer sex or only bj and pissing?
I see they used lots of LP models based in Bp and I think I even know that house they shot that content.
But I guess it just wasnt really what sold enough in first place. Also because studio in middle of Bp nr. Octagon is really expensive. ;)

Anyway, back to Brandon, will we?

Anyway, we maybe really better discuss Brandon Irons compassion for the girls he worked with. That made him vulnerable on long run of course. See also his end, emotions always last deciding problem. :( But he made that biz a much better place, thats important to remember, I think.
