I think that's part of it. Also:

* More wealth to pay for porn.
* Takes harder porn to enjoy porn (seen it all syndrome). LP delivers the needed hit.

On the contrary, as the wives get older they too become more adventurous! I don't remember the girls of my youth being very advanced.
