Dont know about "best of all time". I wouldn't put him above Rocco Siffred for example.
But he just might be the best director that is active right now and he is constantly getting better. Definitely one of the best, have been a fan for a long time.

He definitely is one of the best, but hard to say if he is the best of all time. There is some stiff competition there. JYL and Clark in their golden times shot some really great stuff. Same as Jay SIn. Rocco has some great stuff too, but he is more of as hit and miss for me, although he is probably the most well known.

Giorgio Grandi is a very good director , and, he does have his own style as well as many good ideas , and, some of them particularly innovative.

I am in opinion we should wait at lest a decade to figure out if it will be considered one of the best ever.

Though, I want to highlight that Giorgio began to work like director with much less resources than his more famous colleagues , and, he has been able to to fill the limits of budget with many good ideas and even in porno the good ideas have a fundamental importance.

Once Martin Scorsese told : It is incredible how Federico Fellini having only the 10 % of my budget can produce so fantastic movies


New Porno directors like Greg Lansky do not drive me crazy, though he is the number one for the politically correct porno, but, I must admit he has got a very good technic and an excellent entourage .

Can you maybe tell us how much you usually get out of an average GIO scene?
And how much you'd need to cover investment in the next one?

This is very hard to say, you cant think about "profit for scene", more about profit on 3-5 yearly base. I am not "shooting and selling" but I have investment, depreciation of capital goods, employees, holiday to handle, working permissions, etc. As we are close to the end of the year, I have a clear picture of the situation and it is positive, could be better as several scene did not even reach the production cost, but this is part of the game. Also in the last month we invested in a better logistic, energy saving and electric cars. All of this will give benefits in 2-4 years and some tax cut this year and next year.
This the the power of LP: stability. It gives us the opportunity to run a real company instead than have wandering relationship with distributors/website that change their mind every second day.

If Im a good director, it because LP gives me the opportunity to be so. Also, just to say, LP is handing out in europe a lot of money (through the studios) not only to performers and agency but also a lot of "induced work" which is a consequence of production.
Sometimes I think about the people that point the finger on LP for every single problem in europe just as habit, without to understand how much LP sustains the industry more than anyone else and I ask myself how is possible to be so dam stupid. The production of LP generated more "known models" than anyone else and everyone gets a benefit from this.

I will be happy to be here until xxx say so, than I will probably move on and close the "porn chapter" of my life. I strongly doubt I would continue my job in porn with someone else, I had what I would have called in the past "the opportunity of a life" a couple of years ago with a major American company, but I decided to stay with LP as LP is the real opportunity. Giorgio is certainly one of the best. What I like about Giorgio is that his style has evolved and improved. He loves anal porn and he sees what works, what fans like and responds to feed back. I think to make the best porn you need to re-watch a scene and analyse the scene, not just shoot and forget. I think that GIO does this and has over the past few years come from making good porn to starting to become a legend. Let's see what the future holds but I hope GIO continues to push boundaries.
