When I first saw porn in VR (Gear VR with a Samsung Galaxy S7) I was pretty blown away tbh. That was a couple of years ago and the quality keeps getting better and better with more studios cropping up seemingly each month to cover new niches.

I recently saw a VR scene from a Czech studio featuring Anna De Ville getting fisted with lots of gaping (still on a Gear VR but now with a Galaxy S9+). I posted about VR on LP a couple of years ago, I truly wish they at least started experimenting with it. Studios are very secretive about the technology of their camera rigs, there's an evident learning curve where they suss out how to get the lighting, scaling, positioning right. Then there's the trade off between quality and field of view. LP is already late to the party, it's like 4K all over again.

I would love seeing the type of content LP produces in VR, my fear is that it'll be another half decade before it happens.

Well yeah - what I mean is, I would only consider using hi-definition stuff, and presumably the cheaper the headset (or using smartphones) is going to look pretty low quality and pixelated. I'm happy for someone who actually uses this stuff to put me right on this if I've got it wrong, but if I got into VR stuff I'd want it to be in the equivalent of 1080p quality. The idea of 'being there' is cool, but not at the expense of picture quality.

You'd want the smartphone to have at least a 1080P screen, at which point I don't think it would look that bad? I have PSVR, and I wouldn't call it pixelated or "bad" quality. The first few times I tried it it kinda felt like I was in an incredibly realistic video game but frankly you get over caring about that pretty quickly. I have one of the original PS4s too so if you have a pro it ought to look even better. Can't speak for any of the other formats but I couldn't imagine they'd be any worse on a good screen

Quality depends largely on the studio, lots of the VR studios are now shooting in 5400x2700 which they are calling 5k (although remember that this is split between each eye) but it looks pretty good imo. There's not really any significant difference between viewing that file on a cheaper solution like a Gear VR compared to an expensive setup like the Oculus or Vive. The latter 2 really only come into their own if you've looking at VR gaming.

There's not really pixelation as such but what they call screen door effect - essentially you can faintly see lines between the pixels because your face is so close to the screen, but I don;t think it's noticeable enough to detract from the enjoyment.

Personally I use a Gear VR and have done with a Galaxy S8, then an S9+ and now an S10+ and it works well.

I have been watching VR since 2014, so I'm old school when it comes to VR, it is definitely not going away.

I even had the Sony HMD headsets before VR even was in the market, and those were not VR yet.

The future is basically a combination of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) together called Mixed Reality.

It is growing massively every year becoming more and more mainstream. Pretty much any consumer with decent purchase flexibility already has a VR headset.

I believe by 2029 every household here in U.S. will have a headset. The technology will just get better and better.

There is this underlying belief that VR porn only works for POV porn, but that's just because the experience is so damn realistic that it makes sense.

However I do believe LP style videos can work too. The companies don't do them because there is already an expectation for POV that VR costumers have.

The way to go around this is very simple. PornBox already has the solution. All they have to do is to treat the VR format as if it was another video format, and that's all VR really is.

For example if you buy a video on LP it gives you the following options:

- Web
- VGA
- 1080p
- 4K

All they need to do is to add the option VR. I would go as far as to say they should not even worry about adding the lesser quality versions, just the highest 7K version. Just treat it like they treat the large files on 4K. Eventually everyone will get with the times, so this is good.



This solves everything because LP will still be selling the 4K videos as the main attraction, but the VR option will be there for those that like it, just like BTS is a thing.

This way both costumers are happy, the ones that like the traditional 4K videos, and the ones that want to see it in a more realistic way on VR.

That way VR people cannot demand POV because they can find that elsewhere, and they still know they are buying the 4K video and that VR is just an extra.



It works perfectly because VR fans like me will want to purchase the video just because VR is available, it is basically a very strongly incentive to clean our wallets at a regular basis.

And 2D old school people can't complaint either because they are still getting their 2D stuff.

In other words the way to go about it is to make the VR option the new BTS, and start getting with the times.

By the way, 3D was awesome, it didn't took off because people didn't have giant projector screens, and small TVs don't give it justice, you need at least 120" to really appreciate 3D, it is basically AR, it is truly fantastic, it sucks for those of us with proper setups that they dropped it because it was great.

VR is a whole different beast, VR and AR are a monster indeed.

By the way for those getting a headset Oculus Quest, and Oculus Quest 2 are the best value and the ones everyone is getting because they are wireless and still give you a solid VR experience, plus the 256GB is solid.

For video it is better than the first HTC Vive that came out back in the day. They don't even need a phone or a PC, and the fact that they can do tracking makes them immensively better that VR on a phone which is just an entry level, not the full experience.

Plus 4K 2D videos look fantastic on Skybox VR. Movie theaters in VR have always been great, and with tracking you can even walk around, with tracking the entire theater moves with you, it is a night and day difference.
