that's funny I grew up on New Orleans hip-hop and Lil Wayne, but have not listened to that in years . Like a blast from the past . I'm on my rock s*** like Deftones tool A Perfect Circle Mastodon. This week I've been listening to Deftones Diamond eyes the album and pretty much all their albums are good if you like rock. My thing is I I've been trying to get in shape so every day while I work out I usually listen to Deftones or mastodon. My favorite song right now is Mastodon tread lightly especially the last 3 minutes of the song

Good call. Dave Mustaine is a rock legend. If you dig Megadeath, check out Wolftooth-Woolftooth (album, 2018). They're a new group with very similar guitar work

During my workout today:

* Nothing Prevails - Information Society: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=954NkxU6Sgg Always loved these guys. EDM classic artist with new music still being released!

* Don't Dream It's Over - Crowded House: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qJk4nzBIJg I found this song haunting as used in The Stand (Which I remember watching on its orginal telecast). BTW, Molly Ringwald, was fucking gorgeous in her prime youth as seen in this clip.

* I Ran - A Flock Of Seagulls: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIpfWORQWhU Don't laugh...I actually saw these guys live in their prime with the Go-Go's in the 80's. Actually, a great concert.

* Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diT3FvDHMyo The video of this song reminds me of beach trips to Rhyl and those canvas beach chairs. Those chairs are so very British!

metallica rules
loved Metallica when I was 13. Tried to listen to them again fairly recently and was embarrassed for my teenage self. Quite enjoyed it musically, but the lyrics were atrocious and Hetfield is a really poor singer. Might be a decent front man, but can't think of a worse singer in a band that popular. Can't take adults that claim to like Metallica seriously.

The big rivalry was always with Guns n' Roses. I'll still listen to them on occasion. Was always put off Iron Maiden by the satanic imagery, but turns out they are superb!

Kyuss & Tool are probably the only 90's metal bands that truly stood the test of time for me.

Never been easier to find new music so no excuses to only listen to things you were into 25 years ago. Use it as a starting point by all means, but there are no shortage of bands playing modern versions of whatever genre you enjoyed. Just need to put your cock away for an hour or so and make the effort to listen to be stuff on Spotify or youtube.

I still like metallica mainly because of the riffs and the instrumental work. Can‘t say too much about the lyrics as english is not my main language

The Sword and Baroness are current bands with a similar vibe to Sabbath. Graveyard are another great retro band. Off the top of my head Kadavar, Travelin' Jack, Horisont, Gin Lady, Spidergawd are all worth a listen. There are hundreds of Scandinavian bands that decided they are just going to do classic rock/metal and in many cases, are better than the originals.

Sorry, I rarely listen to Metallica/megadeth style metal nowadays so can't really advise you on that.

Ozzy's albums with Randy Rhoads remain unmatched with the rest of his career. It's sad that Randy died so young.
