GP1616 is absolutely broken in 4k and 1080p. Both files only play the start in streaming and show downloads of 199MB

Yes i agree with you, but what really makes me mad is that they keep stating everything is fixed.
i think they just decided that Customer Returns are not important and that they only need one time subscribers.

If it is just about increasing FPS of a video (aka Video Frame Interpolation) and considering you dont want to do that with like a 100 4k resolution Vids there is actually no need for super powerful hardware or expensive AI-programs.

Software wise there is a free solution on Github called Rife and more comfortably there is waifu2x-extension-gui where among some upscaling technologies there is also Rife Frame Interpolation build in (with free option being limited to 2x FPS) to make a 30 fps video 60 fps 25 to 50 and so on.
Also gives you the option to convert the videos from the currently common h264 codec to h265 which gives you the same video quality at a roughly 60% bitrate meaning lower filesizes. My only advice would be to use a ssd over a hdd because the program extracts each individual frame onto the hard drive at 4k thats a lot of reading and writing not really suitable for old hdds.
For low bitrate 4k scenes there is also the option to use handbrake to just convert videos from h264 to h265 and using the deblock video filter with custom to -1:-1 to get rid of some of the compression artifacts.

But yeah imagine you need to go to post production video editing to get a satisfying quality result for an indiviual scene that costs 10 bucks or more. If new vids were just encoded in h265 with half the bitrate the quality drop wouldn't have been so drastically and many would probably not even notice it.
I feel like everythings drifting apart. Studios produce videos that are somehow unsatisfying, then there is an uneccassary inflation of bad amateur/old scenes asking for more serverspace and then on the technical side it's slaughtered by just halving the bitrate for a higher price thanks to inflation.
Also there is probably no need to even offer 360/480p downloads which can also save serverspace. And then there is also xvid/red where you have basically the same scene in 4k uploaded by different "studios/creators" the same scene in 1080p 4 times from 4 different studios then 720p and so on and then some genius like Roby Bianchi uploading the exact same scene in same quality like 3 or 4 times just crapping up the servers. Scenes are poorly named, models are untagged so it's hard to really connect everything. There just needs to be a proper cleanup and sorting and it would be fixed.

The result is unsatisfied customers, starving studios a site operator making less profit until he decides to stump everything into the ground, when problems were so easy to be solved.

i still thinks before the recent crew up on PORNBOX compression that PORNWORLD.COM for 4k videos from about 2020 to FEB, 2023 has the best looking video quality to my eyes on my TV.
They have good colour range and even though frame rate is only 30fps because the files are soo large i think the compression is less.
also they must use some excellent Studio Cameras and lighting.

Yeah i get your point, i think i read somewhere you have a 4k oled tv as well, having a high bitrate quality video is just visual porn in itself. I just won't feel satisfied with a bad scene just because the quality is great. Having the best of both worlds is of course the most desirable.
Thanks with the pornworld tip i might try them in the future as they have lot of anal scenes as well, i just remember watching some anal scenes and there wasn't a single gape shot which triggered me pretty hard . Which i sometimes feel is generally lacking now but maybe that's just my opinion and many probably don't care about that as much.
You are also probably right about cameras and lighting. Pretty sure like with all technical devices different cameras can produce different quality even though its all 4k and there is probably some tuning options within the camera settings as well.
When it comes to lighting i have to say the "White" studio setups are somewhat unsatisfying to my eyes. White floor, white walls, white sofa,several spotlights and reflectors somehow makes scenes look unvivid and clinical. Maybe thats even why you get poor gape shots because the hole is lighted out and you don't get the black hole shot haha. I just look at some pornworld trailers and their settings seem much more natural which i like.

First, the old quality is back, thank god they listened.

Second, nice catch. I'm not sure where to look in right click Windows properties to see if something is H.264 instead of H.265, but that's a good suggestion! The question is if you could get this information to the site owner, but it sounds like a win-win for everyone to move to H.265.

On a related note, where the hell is H.266? I thought that crap was supposed to be ready like 3 years ago. We need this for the gigantic 8K+ VR porn files, and it wouldn't hurt to make flat porn files even smaller at the same quality.

I checked, and the old vids are still the bad bitrate. I kind of doubt they will re-upload in better bitrate. Unfortunately we'll just have a 1 or 2 month era (however long it was) of junky quality. At least it is fixed going forward.

Not just the example you mention. I recently bought the sz3048 video, by Gonzo, and there is a huge difference between 1080 and 4k. I mean a too exaggerated difference with respect to what there should be. I compared the quality of that video with others of the last year also in 1080. And these last look infinitely better. Sounds like a joke. The 1080 Yummy Studio videos as well are of lower quality.

Do you think it will be possible that some of us can have those same 1080 videos that we have already bought in a better quality? I personally prefer 1080, because it occupies less space and I usually use a led monitor about 5 years old.

I've been testing Gonzo videos. And indeed, the quality of Gonzo's videos in 1080p has dropped significantly. At least the videos of 2023 that I have bought in relation to those of other years.
