95% Guests and 5% active posters - how to change this?

Currently we have 5 forum members browsing, all of them do also post here at least from time to time. And than, additionally, we have 102 guests. Thats nice and shows this forum is being read and is sure also influencing porn users shopping decisions.

But ofc it would be nice also to hear what the guests would like!
How can we motivate them to sign in + start posting quality stuff?
Any ideas?

Btw, Update: Now its even much worse - 10 forum members, of which 6 are active posters and 319 guests. 3% vs. 97% about. And active 2% vs. 98%.

Think that some guests people can be one of us searching in the forum without login but i never noticed of this number was than big.

Interesting threads can be an option to change this or a Welcome thread to introduce theirselfs but surely some people only want read, watch some pics or gifs and nothing else.

One day we'll code our own forum and integrate it better. The current implementation is poorly done, because it's using a 3rd party program that does too much in some areas and not enough in others.

As a professional software developer, this statement scares the crap out of me.

Writing a modern, secure and feature rich forum is a huge undertaking if you plan to do it from scratch, and it would most likely be a broken mess for the first year after going live. I seriously hope you will consider upgrading you current platform first, and if that proves impossible, evaluate what other platforms already exist that already supports most of the features you want and start from there. Tread very carefully when someone offers to write a new system from scratch!

Indeed, some will be, but sure not 300 or so.

Now its like this: In total there are 321 users online :: 8 registered, 1 hidden and 312 guests.

And of the 8 registered only 2-3 are regular contributors.

Yes, 5% are always quite the same users...Sometimes, if a topic thread has been discussed quite a lot,
I just scroll for the 5% regular users, like you, to just read their posts...
I have no idea why we have so many readers as one doesn't spend that much time to give a comment
I find it quite important that models and studios besides their sales figures get some feedback from
their community. On the other had, do we want to have massive numbers of comments like
"good scene" "Awesome" "Instabuy" ?
So better focus on users who do good comments and give more reactions to their comments rather than
ignoring them and put another short comment below. so they are encoured to answer and we have better discussions and we don't need 1000 extra commenters.
But fore sure, 5% more regular would be good...

It's because the forum is like a cross between any car crash or decent bitch fight. Only ever a couple of people actually involved while a crowd of passers-by stare in shock and scream WTAF!

Actually I should say I think the forum is actually a genuinely great resource for promoting all things AV, studios and performers.

Before I found this forum, if I wanted to know about anything significant about who a performer I was fond of was, what they had done, what people thought about that content, what they might do next, links to their OF/IG etc, first I had to go to 'list sites' like Indexxx and eurobabe index, which are useful for a basic career resume, but don't actually tell you anything more than that a certain model shot for a certain studio on a certain date.

Then I had to scrounge around sites like adultdvdforum (something like that), and read feedback, which was always patchy and partial as usually one or two posters would completely dominate threads, then go to each site to find trailers and previews.

Here it's a perfect 'one stop shop' (not sure of that idiom works outside Britain, but it's hopefully self-evident).
Threads are updated with each new scene and linked to trailers and links to buy, pretty reliable feedback from various forum members about each new scene usually comes within hours and days (usually accompanied by great pictures and gifs), directors and models feed comment into, and take feedback from, threads, and often rospend to forum members directly. Ther are links to performers socials so you can keep up with them and support them on other formats.

Yes there are occasional trolls and idiots, as there are idiots and trolls on every forum, but the AV forum moderators are usually quick enough in taking them down to not allow them to ruin the experience.

What more could you ask of a porn forum? Really? It's as good as it gets it think.

So respect to AV for providing it, and I hope it repays them many times over in increased traffic from all the free promotion contributed by forum members.

One-Stop-Shop works pretty well outside GB I think, thanks for the term!
Generally I agree. Maybe its even just as good as it can get.
But than I'd still like to activate more registered users and also more guests.
