Your relationship with LP right now

Postby netzerkaiser » Wed May 12, 2021 5:56 pm

TBH, I've latched onto Private studios, starting from page 173, building up photo collection... Andy Brown, Monica Sweetheart, Bambola... takes time, but creates sensational windows slide show...

I have a lot of that old Private content on DVD already, but if I didn’t, I’d be lapping it up. There’s a certain element from those older productions which has gotten lost over the years.

Thanks. And the photo quality is so good, it rises above the video, if that makes sense?

Yep. Photos used to be taken a lot more seriously back then. That’s partly because Private actually started as a magazine & would run photo sets from their videos, so they wanted them to look as good as possible.

Rocco does amazing photos too, not so much in terms of the photography itself, but in terms of the framing and positioning of the shots. He puts the girls in these great dynamic-looking poses that show off their figures & emphasize their assholes. Sadly, most of that stuff isn’t available on his website, which confounds me.

I love old school old fashioned porn photoshoots. They put so much more technical & artistic quality and effort into it than now.
As you wrote - great framing, great lighting, vibrant colors and contrast. Do you remember like Hot Video Magazine? Ohh gosh..

Screens even from 4k video are not worth it.

EXTREMELY selective.
Everyone appreciates your honesty, until you're honest with them, then you're an asshole.

To the question posed in the initial post:

I think the recent transition away from Legalporno, as a concept, is very relevant here. That name was finally retired recently in favor of the newer Pornbox and Analvids brands, which reflects the broader changes that have taken place affecting the storefront, the focus on new studios and a broader selection of content, and the de-emphasis of Gonzo as the “mothership” producer. It used to be the case that literally one studio published content here, and they did it on a fairly regular basis as well, but today there are dozens of studios releasing through the platform, all on very different schedules. I understand how that can feel like a bit of a mess.

To think about this clearly, it’s important to understand that “LP” as we knew it doesn’t really exist anymore. I suppose the apt question here is simply, is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Speaking for myself - and acknowledging my bias - I think this represents a golden opportunity for content creators (and prospective content creators) to make an impact on the industry. Pornbox is a relatively open platform, which is basically an open invitation for people who want to make porn, and if that means customers are exposed to a wider breadth of content and are forced to sift through a greater proportion of material that doesn’t interest them, I think the trade-off is well worth it.

I think the real issue is one of perception and proportion. Frankly, you’re not any worse off than you were in the past. Quite the contrary, in fact. Content is delivered with more regularity today than it has been at any other time in the history of this site. You can reliably expect to see a certain number of new releases within a given style or category per day, and most studios release their content at a very regular pace, most obviously Giorgio, but others do quite well even if they’re not necessarily on a daily schedule. (For example, Yummy does not have daily releases, but is pretty reliable as far as getting a certain number of scenes out there each week.) The reason it can feel like the selection of content is suffering is because you have to sift through a higher proportion of content from studios that don’t interest you, which is something you didn’t have to do in the past. That is an inevitable result of broadening the selection of content on any platform, not just in porn, but anywhere else. Your brain interprets numbers exponentially, not arithmetically, so proportions feel more “real” and can create false perceptions in your mind, but in reality you’re actually getting a higher quantity of content than you’ve ever gotten before, and within that content, you’re getting plenty of material that appeals to your specific interests. It can feel like that content is drowning in stuff that doesn’t appeal to you, but that’s because there’s just so much stuff available overall. The frequency of major studio releases has not decreased, and is actually better than it has ever been.

I reiterate that I think the trade-off is worth it. This is really the best time in the history of the platform. You just have to do a little janitorial work on the front page and sift around for content that appeals to you... and if it is the case that you really cannot find anything that you want to see on here, that’s okay too, because the platform is so open that virtually anyone has the ability to come along and make the content you want to buy —— maybe even you!

Great points. I think its also fair to say, that there have got to be users who aren't & never were into what is accepted by many users on this site as 'extreme porn'. I'd be one of them. For myself, the main attraction is the St Petersburg stuff & the 2012 - 2015 CZ stuff. Some people just don't get it that this content is unique to this site. If it weren't, I wouln't be here.

That’s true, but I think even within that framework, you’re still getting enough content that appeals to you. Unless you have some kind of extremely specific fetish or style of shooting that you want to see, or you’re very into a specific director’s work and he’s not on the platform, virtually all the boxes are being checked with the breadth of content that is available now. Even Giorgio, who I would say has a reputation for focusing on extreme content, doesn’t actually shoot one type of scene exclusively. He does BG anal, BBGG anal, gangbangs, sausage fests, TS scenes, etc.

A problem is how some of the other sites have been amalgamated. The Private & DDF stuff, maybe the GGG stuff too. its looks like they've been carelessly marketed & sold. If we just focus on Private, surely the films should've been kept together, e.g. Matador series & sold individually per original full movie at 3 / 4 tickets each? This current 12 tickets per scene etc is nonsense in any language. Why buy the sites produce if you're unwilling or don't have resources to give them respect they deserve? I don't understand this at all.

Well, marketing and pricing are different issues, and I agree with some of your points on those issues. To your point about marketing, I have been a big advocate for the creation of some kind of utility which would allow studios to build and maintain custom splash pages to convey their identity more clearly. The ability for studios to control their message on this platform is limited, but that would go a long way to alleviating the problem. I can see arguments for and against changing the presentation of content on the main page. On an open platform, you want all producers to have an equal shot at being noticed. However, if you’re in the Studios tab and you’re looking to drill down on a specific producer’s content, I agree that more work should be done to allow studios to tailor that experience individually to their customers.

I can’t speak to your point about tickets directly, except to say that prices on Pornbox are actually set by producers, not by Pornbox itself, so if you have a question about tickets, you really need to ask each producer on a case-by-case basis. I realize that Private is owned by Pornbox’s parent company, so that doesn’t exactly address your question. I don’t work for Pornbox and cannot provide any clarity on that point. I just know basically how the system works and I think it’s an overall positive ecosystem. Obviously, nothing is ever perfect and there is room for improvement.

I think in relative terms.

LP used to offer content back in 2013-2014, where I was interested in pretty much all of it.
Mostly because I thought almost all the girls were exceptionally good looking.
and i also thought that Gonzo and Sineplex had the best male actors all around.
I didn't like piss then and I still don't, DAP wasn't as prevalent, I don't think.

(this is how I remember it anyway) lol

Back then I had to choose what to buy, so I would not spend an absurd amount of money on it.
Because again, my brain relative thinking brain, compares how much money does X porn company cost me, against Y porn company and weighs the satisfaction I get from each

And to me, spending $300-500 dollars on LP was always hard to swallow compared to Brazzers $99 per year and other similar price websites.

But now, when I see the analvids homepage, I see so much content I would never, ever, watch
even if it were free. lol

now, I have to wait to Wishlist enough scenes, so it would be worth it for me to buy a $79.99 reload
and it's taking sooooooo long, some of these scenes are becoming free tkt purchasable. lol

Unless you like attractive women, then you might need to purchase fewer scenes.

This site disappointing start last year a little bit improved but not that much especially on interracial scene on GONZO side. Could stop with mixed black and white man models. Stop with tattoo written women body and fake tits. Could sometimes can we we see pure natural girl.can we see Freddy one on one scene. Finally stop with this gallons of oil .less oil more natural cream come out of ass.

Someone please bring back the magic of the gangbang multiple cumshot moments and produce high quality picture sets like these old private pictures!!! Nothing beats the well done popshots with flying cum from multiple dicks onto the beautiful faces of the girls.

My relationship has changed. I buy very very occasionally from Giorgio (characterless windowless sets and fake cumshots) and Gonzo (sets again and just robotic action) but dip into other quirkier studios.
The Combian outdoor scenes I thought were AMAZING - seeing such levels of hardcore outside is a turn on for me. Also, Giorgios Wondertoys scenes have gotten some purchases, not for the suffocatingly tedious "pay 4.7 tkts to watch me advertise me dildos" crap but for the lovely psychologically intense male on female fisting.
I have seen the occasional male on female fisting in other scenes recently which is an awesome advance (and had me buying) but unfortunately it always has to be done aggressively which means only maybe 1/3 of the girls who would agree to it in the one on one scenes would do this in a normal scene (and I don't blame them).

It makes more sense to me to name the specific studio you’re discussing (Gonzo, Giorgio Grandi, Anal Manics) and refer to the main site as Pornbox.

“AnalVids” as a brand does not really have its own distinct identity. What is “AnalVids” exactly? It’s some (but not all) of the studios that publish on Pornbox.

My relationship atm....

I am overwhelmed with TO MUCH content...

Past 6 years I have kept up with the "good" content...

But since this covid deal started ended LP ramped up like never before...

And honestly I kinda want them to slow down a bit...

Feel like I am missing out on a lot of "good" scenes because of the overflow of them :/
We Do DP, DAP, TAP, Fisting, And Wet Content ;)

Maybe 2 years ago LP was the hottest shit on the net for me. In the meantime, the enthusiasm has completely disappeared. The pretty girls are gone and have been replaced by tattos and skin&bones. I look at the updates from time to time, but I don't expect AV to offer more variety and move away from trash porn.
