I think most people here, including myself, feel like they need to hide their personal information about themselves. Because anything you say and do can be held against you.
There are private companies who specialize in searching for any kind of dirt on you and anybody else in exchange for payment from employers, government agencies, and political and business rivals.
Officially, you are free and you have all kinds of freedoms and rights. But unofficially, other people and organizations can harm you in various hidden and underhanded ways either for their own selfish reasons or out spite. So, you need to be careful about what you say and do, especially when other people who don't wish you well, can find this information about you.
This might sound paranoid. But the things employers and government agencies do are often hidden and non-transparent. Which invites distrust.
When you apply for a job, and after an interview, the employer rejects you. Then this employer tries to say as little as possible. They would say, we've decided not to continue your application process at this time. And this would be the end of it. There is no reason and no hint, why they've decided this. For all you know, they've found out about your participation at the LegalPorno website, and that's why they've decided not to hire you. Imagination is the limit, when people and organizations are cagey with you and extremely non-transparent in what they do.

On second thoughts, you're right, Mike. But moreso from people who might say, "I think I might know this guy". But these are lurkers & you have to ask, what moral ground are they playing on if they're here in the first place? For myself, I don't fear because I don't feel I've anything to be ashamed of in the first place. But thanks for words of wariness. A lot of snakes out there in long grass certainly.
