Can we change the stupid 14 days studios rule?

Since I find out studios don't get any money from scenes bought 14 days after release it keeps bothering me.

I know they have a stupid algorithm that predicts future sales based on the first 14 days of sales, and that it covers for those sceness bought after.

I also know that scenes bought after 14 days is the reason why they don't change that algorithm, and if people would not buy a scene after 14 days then they would be forced to reduce the amount given by the algorithm.

However I still think it is fucking stupid that the studio doesn't get the money when we buy the scene because part of the thrill of supporting a studio and an actress is to vote with your purchase, and if you don't buy on the first 14 days you are basically no voting anymore in favor of what you are buying.

So it is super annoying, and I wish something could be done about it, a better model perhaps?

I'm not demanding anything, I'm just ranting it is stupid, and annoying, and I never rant for anything, but this deserves it.

its true. Studios making 15 days payment after go everything to pornbox. Why u think girls come out every 15 days? :-D absolut important is 1-2 first days. its no easy calculation profit of videos, but after 15 days is end for studios and scene is closed for us.

But I think customers crying about "I thought I was supporting the studio with my late purchases, but now I discovered that I'm not" are misunderstanding the situation.

As I understand it, the Pornbox formula works out the value of each scene from the first 14 days sales and pays the studio a lump sum at that point for a perpetual licence for the scene.
The calculation of the lump sum includes an allowance for expected future sales of the scene.
So the studio gets paid early and can reinvest in making more content.
And Pornbox take both the risk and reward for future sales.
If the formula is fair then everyone should be happy.

Customers who come along to buy the scene after >14 days are just filling the expected sales orders for which the studio has already been paid.

If customers stop buying older scenes because they think their money "won't go to the studios" then the formula will stop working and Pornbox will have to recalculate it to pay the studios less for future scenes. You don't want that.

In reality I think the silent majority of customers won't overthink it (or think about it at all). They will just continue to buy what they want, when they want.

To be fair, that specific quote make it seem like xxx agrees with the blue text, rather than the whole post by avanfurwet. Only in the original thread does it become clear that the blue text preceded xxx's reply.

The post by avanfurwet used blue text to mark the misconceptions by hypothetical users and addressed those concerns with the rest of his post, and I assume it's that explanation xxx agrees with. Some users highlight parts of quoted texts using different colours so my first reaction was that xxx had done the same, but that makes no sense when reading everything carefully. The quoting works from the top to bottom.
Highlights does not change the text that is around. If you only read what is in the blue highlights then you wouldn't understand with the link anyway.
