What I suspect is relevant is that for some the presence of hair seems to stop them buying a scene completely, whereas I'm guessing those like me who might prefer a bit of hair don't flat out refuse to buy scenes where the models are hairless.
Of course what we see may simply reflect what the models want to do, which I wouldn't want to argue against.
