Maybe the Encoding Settings are not so good when that Stuff was encoded, but i think the most of this Scenes, are old DVD Release Scenes.
So the Original dont have more as 720x576 (Pal) or 720x480 (Ntsc) so the Resolution ""Problem"" cant be fixed.

Take a 64Kbits MP3 File, encode it with 192kbits, and it will still sound the same.

Take a 720x576 Clip, upscale it to 1080, and it will still look like the Original ......... ok not, because upscaling is encoding, each Encoding Process take away Details, so it look a little bit worses as the Original but when you upscale Something the Picture will get more and more Blury.

Watch 720x576 on a old 26" CRT TV (CRT got 720x576 Pal) that the Native Resolution from that TV (not really, but it's Pixel Perfect). It looks way better as on a 52" LCD. Because on a Huge 52" LCD the Picture must be Upcaled in a huge way, and the native Resolution from a 52" LCD is 1080p.

Thanks PC_82 and Thank you for your answers AngryRippedOffUser. No not the problem does not come from the dimension(size), from the size but from the smoothing because other certain scenes(stages) on the site are in DVD quality and are small-sized(short) and the quality is good...

Use Mediainfo and Post the Specs from the Older Stuff, then we can Compare it better, and find out where the Problem in the Compression Settings is.

MediaInfo is OpenSource !
