My goal (I started from scratch last summer) was to get to be able to pay Bach's 15 2 part inventions by end of year.

We'll see.

If I'd 2nd goal, which I don't, it'd be build up diorama such as this:

That’s quite an ambition my man. Kudos. Bach is not so easy to play.
Piano or Paper & Comb?

Piano. I have it a week. Love it. Been using Yamaha keyboard for past year but poor dynamics.

I just figure the inventions will open up door for counterpuntal development for me.

I just love the whole Bach | Scarlatti | Bach keyboard scene so much.

TY!

*I just love the whole Bach | Scarlatti | Handel keyboard scene so much.

Handel is so underrated, sneered upon. A Fu6king Genius. Éric Heidsieck is a great pianist too.

You’re preaching to the converted. But I don’t think that he is so underrated - his keyboard works maybe. Of the Baroque composers he is generally ranked second only to Bach I would have thought. And he excels in the one category of music that Bach did not touch.

Thanks. To answer your first question, I've mastered 3 of them & I'm on 4th... but its the way I'm doing is so slow, I hope as I go I'll speed up my methodology. Right now I'm kind of reading & then memorising them. But I'm enjoying it, which is most important. If you don't enjoy it, its no use.

You know your music. Opera gave his dramatic genius the perfect setting.

I kind of looked down on him because he had no problems with plagiarism, I mean he stole brazenly his aria Laschia ch'io panga from Corelli's op 10 number 2 sarabande:

Corelli: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcjbxCOQFxk

Handel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yw1A5TQVwvQ

I mean if you or I 'borrowed' like that today, we'd be looking at bankruptcy.

Which reminds me of Ed Sheerins case. I looked up his 'song' on youtube, & I don't think he stole. The original was dreadful, his song(s) is | are dreadful. A perfect argument that human beings are not progressing but that genetics are actually producing an idiocracy! :D

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sP2tUW0HDHA

But in his keyboard work Handels soul reveals itself. And it is a beautiful soul.

This is a weird hobby I have, buying and maintaining my partner's high heels/boots collection.

The time it takes to wash, and polish some of them...you would think I had OCD!

Stallone, Arnie, Van Damme got together to talk about making a film about all the best classical composers of the past.

Stallone said "I will be Mozart", Van Damme said "I will be Pachelbel", Arnie said "damn you guys, don't make me say it..."
