Postby netzerkaiser » Sat Apr 02, 2022 11:47 pm

I had time at work today... man I looked up this issue so carelessly thrown at us in history books today & yesterday (seemingly to be discarded & forgotten).

Man, this guy was a fucking genius with balls of daring, golden, steel (if such exists) To even DARE make the move he made in this battle is beyond pornographic... fuck me... Ridley Scott must have copied it for Gladiator Colosseum scene:

The best in his life was the fact he married a prostitute. I great man. I noble man. A gentleman.

He most certainly did not! His wife was a widow from the island of Nevis. You are probably thinking of his liaison with the wife of the British ambassador to Naples.

As for Nelson, a naval commander of genius but a flawed individual (as just about all of us). I can recommend ‘Losing Nelson’ by Barry Unsworth, a novel that provides a good potted history of Nelson’s career but is really a study in obsession, hero-worship and how we ignore the fact that our heroes have feet of clay. I believe that it is currently out of print but used copies can be found on eBay or online booksellers.

Yes, You're obviously right. Lady Hamilton was not his wife.

What I'm trying to say is, THIS MAN, gambled his entire legacy 50 - 1, he could have been remembered as an embarassment to British arms with the risk he took... pople forget the incredible risk he took.
